I really missed my skim milk in the beginning on the FTS program, but learned to substitute it with unsweetened Almond Milk by Blue Diamond.  If you stay under your 20 carbs per day, is it bad to consume 5-6 cups of almond milk a day?  It is very satisfying to me especially when I add the sugar free Hershey chocolate syrup (plus ice cubes to make it really cold!).  Thanks and have a great day!

Hi, Susie!

I really miss milk, too!!  My almond milk (Almond Breeze) has 8 carbs - 1 fiber = 7 g for 1 cup serving.  I would definitely be over 20 carbs if I indulged in 5 or 6 cups/day...

Are there lower carb Almond Milks - would love to hear about them...

Thanks Doug....I am good!! My scale had been stuck but started moving again so I am a happy girl. Those "last 10 pounds" are such a bear!! Been at it for eight years since I quit smoking and of course the "age" thing doesn't help  Wink

Hi, Susie!

I apologize if I upset you and Doug.  I was totally unaware there was unsweetened almond milk.  After Doug’s response, I even drove to Publix to check, and our store only carries Vanilla and regular, no unsweetened.  Guess I need to go on a quest to find the 1-carb Almond milk ‘cuz I really miss my milk!!

Again my sincerest apologies...

The brand Blue Diamond Almond Milk comes three ways:
1.  90 calories/cup  2. 60 calories/cup  3. Unsweetened 40 cals./cup

Publix, Wal-Mart, and others carries all three.  Enjoy !!!   Smiley
