Thanks Doug I know your right, but I cannot make my family eat FTS. so somehow I just have to find willpower to have it in the house for them but not go near it, and that is definetely the hard part for me.

Aw, KFAITH, you are definatley in my prayers! Doug's advice is very sound, but if you have people who provide their own food, it can be a bit difficult. What I do is this: I have a pantry, and the shelves in there are designated for my brother, and myself. My son is stuck eating what I feed him! LOL! Somehow seeing that visual tag on shelf saying "Renae's" or "Dean's" really helps me.

Umpa, I adore fishing as well! haven't ever caught anything but a trout, and I don't like eating them much, except fresh-caught out of the water, straight to the camp fire ;) I LOVE salmon, hake, cod, and halibut however  ;D
Gonna try a recipe out if I can find a replacement for italian bread crumbs, for spinache cream-cheese stuffed beef tenderloin..replacing beef with my Elk tenderloin...thinking that's Christmas dinner! who needs prime rib??

Your answer is in ask umpa.I would take the elk over prime rib anyday!!! I love to fish fresh water and salt water.I don't fish for anything I don't eat however. My new favorite fresh water fish (other than bass) is steelhead trout. It is 100% tastier than salmon. Its the difference between a 22 and a glock!! :D :D :D

the trout here are mainly rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brookie..brookie being my favorite..but just most trout I've had is just too "fishie" LOL

I would love to go fishing for other types of fish! My son has caught bass, and he LOVES it :)

Hi zombiegirl! :)

Fresh (or properly frozen) trout don't taste "fishy".
That taste comes will come from trout that were improperly handled (i.e. left at or near room temp a bit too long before freezing and/or cooking).

Zombiegirl, you are not alone. I can relate to your frustration.. I feel off a few times.. I have maintain but surely it has been a struggle at some points for me.. I find that Mon thru Fri I am sooooo good and then the weekend hits and I am surrounded by temptation... UGH  I behave and I wont lie, OMM have helped me out every single time...

stick with us and you will be good.. I have mentally told myself that I have to answer to the forum for my mishaps (I know that dont) but since its work mentally for me, then I do...

@ Mouseissue..I'm actually talking about the ones we catch right from the river or lake..I KNOW how to clean a fish..it's just I've never been big on trout, ever ;) It would be near blasphemy if I bought frozen trout around here! Our store doesn't even carry it! LOL

Thank you ALex :) We actually just tried the OMM and at first, it really doesn't LOOK that appetizing, but boy is it yummy! I keep making my borther and son taste the low-carb stuff, and I think I have them both about convinced to go low carb..it's the teenage daughter that will be the problem...she eats whatever she wnats and is thin as a rail. Kills me lol :)
