NUTS & SEEDS
Item Calories Protein(g) Fiber(g) Fat(g) Net Carbs(g) Total Carbs(g)
2.00 tbs Almond Butter  203 4.8 1.2 18.9 5.6 6.8
2.00 tbs Almonds, slivered  102 3.5 1.6 8.6 1.7 3.3
2.00 tbs Almonds, whole  106 3.7 2.2 8.9 1.4 3.6

I am confused Doug's book said 30 almonds= 3.2 carbs (I think..I am at work now).  This chart shows just 2tbs 3.6 carbs.  30 is a lot more then 2 tbs no??  Help!

Ask Umpa / shrimp stir fry
« on: April 18, 2011, 02:30:26 PM »
Umpa or anyone have a good recipe for shrimp stir fry?  I have broccoli, bok choy, cauliflower and onions on hand.  Just trying to find a low carb "sweet and sour" type sauce.  Thanks

Thanks umpa.  I have been doing so much reading on low carbing--I think you are right, I am over-thinking.  Thanks for your support and quick response.  I can tell these forums are really a great resource for people trying to get off of sugar.  Everyone is so nice and helpful.  I am sure to be in contact as I need help!  Tried just plain old zucchini in butter last night with a little garlic-yum.  I have forgotton how good butter is!! :D

OK I better start keeping track.  I have this great app on my IPad it is called My Fitness Pal.  But I am always under carbs and over fat/calories because the % aren't the same as FTS.  But at least I can track.  Thanks Jo.  Good luck with your eating plan.  It looks like I would be so hungry eating what you have been lately!

Is this OK for "induction".  I am craving something sweet but have avoided as much as I can because I am so new to this WOE. ;D

Thanks I really needed that hint.  There are so many posts/threads that I do get confused. ::)

Thanks again mouseissue and Jo. I have read the book but I think I will again. Wow that is a lot of cauliflower and broccoli-great fiber too. I am sure I will learn how to make those good choices.  When you were new did you write everything you ate down?

Thank you umpa I have been looking the forums and yours is full of great recipes.  I am worried that I will miss all of the fruits that I love.  I am trying to stick to berries right now to stay low in carbs.  I think watermelon is low too.  How often do you suggest I eat fruit?  Also mouseissue said to NOT worry about calories. Is that true. Sorry not doubting you mouseissue but that goes against everything I have always read and heard.  Ia appreciate any advice.  Thanks again I am ready to feel great!

Thanks for the nice welcomes mouseissue and jogain.  The fts family seems great.  I read the book and decided that day to cut sugar and carbs. I have been working on changing the foods that I eat for about two weeks.  I am down 6 pounds already!  I am in the beginning stages and haven't counted every carb but I am enjoying some new foods.  I look forward to this way of eating long term.

Oh boy I am new too and have been counting eggs as 0 and eating them for breakfast and hardboiled for snack.  Thanks so much for the news.
