Katary's "nogurt" has a similar consistency to pudding too.  You can flavor the base any way you like it!  I am going to make chocolate today using WF syrup and add some fresh berries yummy. :o

My family is Hungarian.  I grew up smelling cabbage and noodles but never liked it as a kid.  In tried just fried cabbage with oil and fresh cracked pepper...I was missing out as a kid!  Love it and it is just great without noodles. :D

Mary my kids are 26,31,33.My opinion is alot different.Kids need their parents to be parents and not friends.Unless he has a job you are purchasing the food for the family. It is your job to make healthy choices for your son.If he wants to use his own money to buy ice cream let him. He only has so much money how much damage can he do?But stick to your guns.We are talking the health of your child.Heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. No kid wants to be the fat kid. There are replacements for everything.I will help you.But as parents we have to walk our talk.Set an example and be strong.

I agree Umpa...parenting is hard work but kids need guidance not friends!  We are the best role models that our children have. Good luck with Joe!

I made Katary's "nogurt" yesterday.  This morning I had that with 1/4 smaps and two strawberries cut up--yummmy it is just like the yogurt parfaits with granola and fruit!  I will have this often.
 :) :)

Bear Den / Re: Oh God!... Did I Blow It Yesterday!!!
« on: August 21, 2011, 12:07:02 PM »
You are NOT alone Tony!!  My son and I share birthdays and always have a big together party...that party was yesterday and I let him choose the menu.  He chose "big fat burgers and homemade macaroni and cheese".  Well I did fine with the burgers but could not resist some Mac and cheese!  I could have made macafoni if I had more time but having 22 people was work enough!  I did find a nice warm bacon dressing to go with spinach salad and everyone enjoyed that.....but then there is CAKE!  I could have made Rena's omm cake but Costco has THE best chocolate (of course he had to pick chocolate!!) cake with a layer of mousse.....yum yum yum.  I am back on track this am....didn't even get on the scale.  I had a great shared time with my family and will be fine by midweek.  Life is too short for regrets.  You are strong person with great faith and today is a new day. ;D

What a great idea Tony...Tony's wife actually! :D. You could make a batch, add the chicken and have a few meals lunch and/or dinner. :)

My family teases  me too. "mom oh no here come some carbs!!". Buy they get it and see that my energy levels are high and know that I feel good.  They all love meats and cheeses and many of the  things On the FTS plan so we do enjoy many meals together.  I plan on sticking with this lifestyle.  ;)

Vegetarian Recipes / Re: Jicama au gratin, good veggie recipe! Yummy :)

Turnips are much better than jicama. I use them for all kinds of stuff. Mash potatoes, cheesy potato casserole french fries. I replace all that with turnips!

Tony & beebs I love turnips too.  I bet that recipe would be great with them.  I just made some last night with Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.  They were delish! Sliced and baked yumm! :)
