Resistant starch??
« on: June 03, 2011, 10:48:47 PM »
Hi everyone

I've been hearing a lot about "resistant starch" lately and even saw on the Rachel Ray show a new diet called the "Carb lovers diet" that claims that you can eat potatoes and pasta etc..... because of resistant starch.   ??? ???  Has any one heard about this?  This sure sounds crazy to me....

They can do it because nobody calls them on the carpet for it :D Its a way for people to justify their carb addiction  because they want to believe there are good carbs, their our friends! :D

Oh so true you guys!

This is just another version of that "good" carb "bad" carb baloney. >:(
They believe that if you combine fiber carbs with digestible carbs, you will end up with something less "fattening".

As we know, our bodies can't tell the difference between a digestible carb from a carrot or one from a plate of pasta.
We need to watch ALL digestible carbs in order to control our weight!

As an example, whole wheat bread has more fiber than white bread.
So they say "Eat whole wheat. It's much less 'fattening' than white bread.".
But since it's digestible carbs are also very high, we can easily gain weight eating it.
What you do today is what matters!
