Title: 200 Pounds gone FOREVER
Post by: SherriPie on June 21, 2011, 08:24:28 AM: I stepped on the scale this morning and that last pound FINALLY slipped away!!

WOO HOO...I did it...200 POUNDS GONE FOREVER!!

<insert happy dance here>

I have tried so many times and I am so thrilled to hit my goal with FTS!

WOOP WOOP!! I am thawing a piece of FTS cheesecake to celebrate :)

Thanks everyone for listening to me rant about my damn scale for the last 15 months.

And ShihTzuMom1 I tried to take him on it but in the last 15 month he has hit 6'3...he's too tall. The good thing is we are heading to sea world to ride the Manta!!

Maybe another size or two, I might just continue loosing thru the summer and see where I end up. My husband on the other hand would like me to stop now. So we shall see. :)

You know what it does! The weird thing is I still feel like that heavy girl. I walk by the mirror sometimes and have to take a second look because I forget that's me. Crazy right? I think the fat girl will probably always linger there in the back of my mind. Once you associate yourself as such it's hard to change it. But I am SO glad the scale doesn't go along with that line of thinking. ;)

Gosh Sherri, all day long I have been thinking about what you have done!!! I'm now thinking that maybe I need to cut my carbs back to around 12 - 15 a day or start exercising. For the past 6 months I have averaged 5 lbs a month. I am happy about that, but I want to be in YOUR SHOES!!! ;D I am just totally amazed.....

Like you guys, I still "think" I see a someone who is just as FAT as he was before he started.
But I'm finding that I'm not as surprised when I see my reflection in a window or mirror.
Slow but sure... It's changing. Just a bit slower than my body is changing.

But as you know we "curvy" girls don't like our pictures taken. So this was taken on my birthday, 10 days before I started FTS. The new picture was taken of me last night.

Depends on how hungry you are. Sometimes half is enough like as a breakfast pita, other times I may eat the whole thing like when I cut them in half and use them as taco shells. It just depends on you. :)

It was the support and feeling tied into this community that helped me do it. Just read the book, follow Dougs rules and stay under 20 carbs a day. That's all there is to it! :)

Yes, Sherri is, Kelli! :)

Her experience is another example of how well this lifestyle works.

I could not imagine ever going back to the way I used to eat.
Just the thought of it makes me nauseous. :P

As you proceed along your FTS journey, you'll notice how much better you feel once you've purged your body of sugar.
This process usually takes a week to 10 days for most folks.
You will know the day it happens for you when you first wake up that morning... It's like being reborn! ;D

I think Im writing a book about that now... lol Maybe a weird question for some but maybe some ladies and gents will know what I am feelin'... In regards to scared, I'm getting older and the fear of age-related diseases on top of weight-related pproblems is what turned it round for me. I had tried lots of other ways to try to lose weight (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) but they didn't last long or satisfy me.

I have never really wanted to give up on fts, even though I had my moments (and believe you me I was not a happy camper when I had to give up normal chocolate and then sugarfree chocolate as well. I know 'beauty knows no pain' but it was PAINFULL) but I knew deep inside me that this is the healthier option.

So, here I am, a work of art in progress. lol

Although FTS seems to focus on losing weight, the true focus is improving health.

When I started FTS, my health was a "time bomb" waiting to go off.
I was on medications for high blood pressure, cholesterol, and elevated blood sugar (type II diabetes).
Now, I'm "medication free" and feel like I did 30 years ago! ;D ;D ;D

So don't be afraid of good health!
God intended for you to be healthy. So embrace that, and go forth with confidence.

It is also very realistic to know that the world responds differently to skinny people than it does to fat people. I think wrapping my mind around the fact that I was judged harshly because I was overweight took some getting used to. I'm pretty much the same person, just size 8 not jammed into a 16.

To steal a slogan, take it one day at a time and be aware of the fact that other things will change besides your size.

Better today and worth it ... lost more energy and hope. I think I am ready to be a thin girl and not hide behind the Fat Coat anymore. The stories here are so inspiring and I am so greatfull to get to hang and move in the direction of "happy with my body".
