I'm planning on making an OMM in bread-size dishes (individual casserole dishes), then melting butter in a cast iron skillet and plopping one piece of bread in it, placing a slice of cheese on that, putting a layer of cut-up avocado on that, grinding a little salt on the avocado, placing on another slice of cheese and topping it all with the other piece of bread. Brown the bread, turn and brown the other side. If the cheese isn't melted, and it usually isn't, I'll plate the sandwich and pop it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Then I'm going to cut the sandwich in half and EAT IT slowly, savoring every bite. I could put a slice of Canadian bacon on it for kicks, but I think I'll leave it off the first time around.

This sounds very good, Sarah! :) :) :)
And like BigTex, I'd add some canadian bacon as well.

I'll bet this sandwich would be great dipped in a little low carb ranch dressing with a few drops of Chipolte sauce!... YUMMY! ;)

Regular bacon, cooked, would be wonderful on this, too, come to think about it!

Some of you may remember "Izzet's bread" from a while ago. It is so easy to make and it can be changed up for your taste. I made it plain, and also Italian style and used it for grilled cheese sandwiches, French toast, regular sandwiches, even as a base for fruit and whipped topping! You can just pour it into a thin layer on a cookie sheet that has small raised edges and then when you slice it, it is thin enough (so youdn't have to split it as thebrecipe calls for) and it is like slicing brownies or cake.

Here is a link to that original thread:  http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=1341.0

I've heard some say they do not like flax seed meal's somewhat wangy taste.
I personally like the it. ;)
But for those who don't, this may help them enjoy it...

1) Use Golden Flax Meal. It's flavor is much milder than the darker variety.
2) Add 1 or 2 drops of FTS ZERO to flax seed recipes to neutralize the "wang" and impart a more bran-like nutty-sweet flavor.

FTS ZERO is GREAT!!! ;D ;D ;D
