Pretty cool recipe and story :) allot of effort though, MUCH simpler and crunchy taco shells can be made in 60 seconds....ready?

Place a slice of provolone cheese on a piece of wax paper and microwave for 60 seconds..... remove and fold into a taco shell, hold in position for 15 seconds then peel off the wax paper.

I agree with Doug  ;)   Cheese makes a great shell............I love to take them to the restaurant to use as chips for my salsa too   :)
