Title: FIRST WEEK BACK....
Post by: KFAITH on March 12, 2013, 02:14:45 PM
Hi ya all, last week was my first week back on FTS. I am happy  ;D to report I had a 10 pound lost when I weighed in on Saturday. yeah.
I been feeling better, so been busy cleaning my house as not much had gotten done we had so much sickness in January and Feb. But maybe that is a good thing maybe all that sickness is what it took to make me realize I have got to change and NOW!
I want to have hours just to soak up all the good stuff on this forum and recipes, etc, as soon as I can find the time.
I got a TON of weight to loose, for sure, but I can already feel a difference in my stomach. This sure works when you are faithful to it.
I tryed a roast with jicama cut up in chunks and brussel sprouts in crock pot on Sunday, the jicama was still too firm, but it ate.  I have never been much of a cook but I am trying.  Love Doug's cauliflower mash recipe , it is so good.
Tonight doing spag. squash for supper.
I been making small pizza,  taking one of those low carb Joseph's pita and putting one T of pizza sauce on it with shredded cheese, baking in oven for  10 min, oh what a great taste that is for lunch.
So I pray you are all doing well. Like Doug says I CAN  I KNOW I CAN I CAN I CAN I CAN !

Rosie when you make your changes on your ticker are you copying the new  "BB" (bulletin board) code and pasting it in your signature box?  Also don't forget to click on save changes once you have done so...  I use a different ticker than some folks but I don't believe the process is any different.

My Dear Rosie... :)

Why do you say things like; "not great but better than gaining" or "only lost 2 pounds"? :-\
Every pound we lose is another victory toward better health and toward reaching our goals.

This is NOT a race!... This is a LIFESTYLE! :) :) :)
By living the FTS lifestyle , we are working toward healing our bodies from years of carb abuse.
This healing will take a good bit of time to finish.
The weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) along the way, is only a fringe benefit.

If you focus on how much healthier your getting and how much better you feel,
you will be more likely to reach your ultimate weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) goal. :) :) :)

Thanks Toni, guess I needed to hear that.  I just have so much to loose, and want my life back as fast as I can change things.

Welcome back if I haven't already said it.  And I can truly relate to the 'only 2 pounds' bit, I truly can.  It seems like everyone on the forum is dropping it off and you can only do it 'one pound at a time'.  But hey, as tony says 'it is a LIFESTYLE' and after you are on this path for a while, while the pounds do matter (no matter what anyone says) you feel better, and better and even more better.  Your body likes that you are taking better care of it;  it's your head that is playing the mind games.  We know what we have to do, but habits are a b_t__h (pardon the language) to shake off.

Take a deep breath and tell your, body, soul and your mind that 'YOU CAN DO THIS'.  One good or bad day at a time.
'Cos some days are a breeze and others really really aren't.

Come on the forum when times are tough (I do and surely people get sick of my "crisis' ", but these truly wonderful people pick me right up, shake me up/down, make me feel so much better, as they will you.

oooooooooooooo (these are hugs if you didn't know)

You really got this you know, you really do  ;)

You're getting great advice Kfaith. The danger is impatience places you on a slippery slope to failure. One of these days you'll step on the scale and your weight will not have dropped as anticipated or it may have even gone up a pound or two. If this occurs at a time when your mindset is wrong your resulting decision may put you back into the potato chip bag  :o

Trust in the science, don't be in a hurry and keep strict with your carb intake.....no cheating. A little here and a little there does indeed put the weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) brakes on.  8)

You are doing GREAT Rosie!!  If you lose 2 pounds of fat and feel discouraged just put 2 pounds of hamburger meat on your countertop and see how much that really is ~ a real eye opener!!
