Title: tea with milk!
Post by: fineman on July 08, 2013, 06:15:31 AM
Hi! I have not been here for sometime. My weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) is going fine. Though seem to have plateaued for last 2 months. I want to know if tea with milk is a total no no. Because I love that.

I would use Heavy whipping Cream instead of plain milk....it is lower in carbs  ;)  Good to see you

Hi fineman, good to hear from you again. TooSweet is right - there are less carbs in cream.  What I usually do is mix a tablespoon of cream with about 2/3 cup water in a little milk jug and use it for my coffees throughout the day. Glad you are doing well.

Hello, fineman! :)

It's nice to hear from you again! :) :) :)

We have to watch everything BEFORE it passes our lips.
What we think of as "little things" like condiments and milk can really mess things up.

A little heavy cream is a good alternative for tea.
Just be sure to read the label and count the carbs (if it has any).

Hi, Michelle! :)

I drink my coffee black.

But when I'm in the mood for a lighter coffee, I use heavy whipping cream (0 carb),
and maybe a couple drops of FTS Zero (0 carbs).

Oh you don't want to know what I put in my coffee then lol. Unsalted butter, heavy cream and coconut oil, mixed in blender. It's basically breakfast on work days - fast and fills me up for hours. Hehe. Don't laugh!

Hi, Michelle! :)

That concoction might sound "funny" to most people out there.
But it really makes perfect sense!

Fats will ward off hunger feelings for a long time because they digest slowly.
Plus, the coconut oil will add omega-3 fatty acids to counter the bad omega-6 we get from many sources.

Exactly my thinking - though I stole the idea off of someone else. ;) I admit it. :D Ever heard of bulletproof coffee? This is my version of it.

Praise the Lord and pass the Heavy Whipping Cream.

I like Cream in my tea also.  I also make Skinny Vanilla Latte's using HWC.

HWC can be very helpful

How do you make your lattes? I used to be a barista at one point and really miss a good latte!

I've got a nice little machine and I use Pikes Place and heavy steamed cream with a sprinkle of fresh nutmeg.... ahhh the joy of a milk mustache :)

Yep! ;D

Pikes Place blend was inspired by the Pikes Place Market, 50 miles from here in Seattle.
Some of the very best coffee on the planet is served in that area.

Nothing like a hot lotte on a cold, wet, Western Washington day. :)
And we see lots of 'em.
