Title: 1/3 lb Steak Taco and Spicy Shredded Jicama
Post by: Cyndi on May 27, 2010, 07:58:28 PM
Tonight we made Steak Taco served with Spicy Shredded Jicama~

Brown 1 1b top sirloin steak sliced in small thin strips in about 3 Tbsp. Peanut oil
use whatever 0 carb spices you want to your taste
I used black pepper, a pinch of salt, a dash each of Mrs. Dash minced onion and table blend , 3 Tbsp. of a product called;
Tuscany Sandwich and Pizza Topping listed as 0 carbs
(it is like a relish of olives, 100% pure soy bean oil, hot peppers, celery, carrots, cauliflower and seasonings)

Scoop some hot steak onto warmed Lo Carb La Tortilla Tortilla ( http://fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=269.0 (http://fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=269.0) )
Sprinkle Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Shredded Lettuce
Hot Sauce (0 carbs)(optional)
A drizzle of Hidden Valley Ranch
We split the meat three ways making it 1/3 lb steak each~~

I shredded the Jicama on a cheese grater (got about 2 1/2 cups from a large sized one)
fried it in the left over oil from the meat
and added same spices above to taste but not the relish~ maybe another time~~
kept on top of it on high heat flipping and mixing it until started to brown

Spooned the Jicama hot on the plate next to the Steak Taco and added a drizzle of Ranch to that also...tasted just like rice to us!
Very delicious!

Just add up the carbs in each thing then divide by how many servings it makes. Yeah I think that's right....

yep beebs~ I split the meal three ways~ so each..

serving size:
1/3 lb top sirloin steak  (0 carbs)
1 lo-carb tortilla (3 net carbs)
1/2 cup Jicama (2.5 net carbs)

Next time I make this I'm gonna add steamed asparagus al dente' (5 spears=2 net carbs) with a dollop~~ ;D ~LOL
of real butter(0 carbs) and also increase the meat and shredded Jicama for a bit larger portions as it is now been
tested and approved by this little family unit as being truly:

~~ Delicioso ~~

no beebs..... the serving size is for each person

1 taco (1/3 lb meat and sprinkled fixin's on 1 lo-carb tortillia)(3 carbs because of the tortillia)
1/2 cup Jicama(2.5 carbs)....that is what it says in Dougs Fat to Skinny book

so...........................

5.5 carbs each person...i hope I did not confuse you and everyone too much...I'm sorry~ ;)

Diet.....what diet! Isn't it wonderful to eat great and lose weight (http://www.fattoskinny.com/). beautiful plate! If a person wanted to cut the carbs further simply replace the tortilla with a big crispy romaine lettuce leaf  ;)

The "D" word isn't allowed in my house!  I correct my husband or anyone else when they start to say it. It's not a diet, it's a healthy lifestyle....my mind has been renewed and I'm so thankful! : )

Hi Cyndi! :)

When we think of losing weight, most of us think of numbers on a scale.
In fact, what we really want to do is shrink down in size by losing the excess FAT we carry around.

Therefore, you were not really stalled.
Being stalled means no loss in weight OR in size.

It's so nice to hear from you again!
Don't be such a stranger and chime in more often. :)
