My adventure with french fries
« on: July 09, 2011, 10:22:55 AM »
Last night I went out and had a fantastic time. Afterwards we went to eat and the french fries were starring at me. Granted it has been 15-16 months since I had a french fry. I'm in maintaining mode and thought why not just this once. So I had chilli cheese fries while my husband watched wondering what I was doing. They tasted great but the weird thing is they didn't taste as good as I remembered them tasting. They were really greasy and heavy. Once I was done with them I felt way over full and bloated. This morning though I am DYING! It's like I have the flu from hell. Stomach sick, head hurts, sluggish - no energy, AHHH!! Even my son commented on that I looked like I feel sick. So if this is what carbs makes me feel like I am so SO GLAD I don't eat them anymore. I feel like I went dancing all night, drank way too much and then ate a FULL thanksgiving dinner. I guess I learned my lesson but gosh I feel AWFUL!

If I feel this bad from one serving, what in the world are those carbs doing to my body??

Scary right!

Oh Sherrie, I undersatnd what you mean.. Though I didnt have FF on my cruise, I had sugar free desserts that I am sure still were high on carbs and I felt that way.. Too be honest, I still feel a little slugging though I now also know that my B12 is a culprit in this feeling...

It is indeed amazing how bad and horrible carbs can make you feel.. when I was under 20 carbs, I felt so naturally high.. The great part is that once you experience that natural hig of energy, iyt makes it easier to get there should you slip.. Im almost there again.... I know that my body is going thru a minor detox....

For most my life, Micky D's fries were my favorite.

The last time I ate french fries was at a McDonalds.
A while back, my older son was munching on a super-size order of them, and I asked for a couple.
By my second chew, the greasy heavy flavor was so obnoxious to me I went to the restroom to spit them out.

It's amazing how much tastes can change from living low carb.

French Fries are the demon for many of us and it's important not to go without replacements.

I LOVE turnip fries and eggplant fries. Lots more flavor without the sugar. I understand what you went through Sherri, but from now on I want you to picture the skull and crossbones symbol for poison when you look at those fries....cause that's what they are.

I'm going to try the recipe. It took three full days for me to get back to feeling like my high energy normal self.  I am VERY glad to be back.  ;D ;D

Hi Sherri! :)

Sounds like the fries actually made you ill... That's no surprise after eating a poison. :P

I was very proud of my daughter today. She loves McDonalds fries and she actually skipped them and we ordered a
McDouble and ate them on our Joseph's pita bread
