Title: The Rock of Beeble
Post by: beebs on November 11, 2010, 09:14:06 AM
For those of you have fallen off the wagon and think I am the Rock of Beeble, let me tell you what I ate yesterday. I had a Frisch's Swiss Miss and fries for lunch and for dinner (yes I know), I had a Taco Bell  taco salad and a caramel apple empenada and smores pop tarts for a snack. Im getting ready to start my cycle and have felt like crud for several days I believe some of this has stemmed from a deep seated longing for umpadoodles and my xylitol hasnt arrived and I cant make a thing! So yes I cheated. Back on the wagon today!!!  :P

Yes, get back on the wagon Beebs!!  Go and get some SF Jello & Reddi Whip to fall back on.  I have been eating shelled pumpkin seeds when I want to nibble.  The unsalted kind I get are 2 net carbs per 1/2 cup. So 1/4 cup is enough to help me through that need.  I also have unsalted sunflower seeds that are 2 net carbs per 1/3 cup.  Again, half of that is enough to nibble on, especially if you eat them one at a time.

So get back at it, I'm sure you feel so much better when you eat properly!!  I know you can do it!

Ohh I know I can do it. When it's that time for me it affects everything I have PMDD and cant be treated for it. I get nasty cravings and get moddy it's like being in detox every month. Funny thing is I was doing really well I can tell when it's coming on though.  Stupid amazon not shipping my xylitol.  :P

You are so right, beebs!

We are ALL addicted to sugar.
Although we once thought it would provide "comfort" at times, we now know what it really will do to us.

We should all plan and prepare for moments of weakness.
Those moments will come!... Sometimes when we least expect them.
How prepared we are will make all the difference in how we respond.

It's funny but I seem to do better if I eat lunch at McDonalds. I know that sounds crazy but I end up being happier. Beebles are funny little creatures.  :-*

No problem with McDonalds as long as you ask them to hold the bun, tortilla, ketchup, sweet relish, sauces, & desserts.

Remember the person Doug showcased last month that lost 85 lbs. eating only McDonalds foods, Andrew H. Mcminn?
See http://fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=1319.msg11593#msg11593 (http://fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=1319.msg11593#msg11593)

If other Beebles are like you, they must be a lot of fun!  ;)

Everyone messes up...at least your back on FTS and it was only for a day. Were the fries good? That is one thing I really miss.  :-[

Hi Sherri!  :)

It's wonderful that we can replace and closely replicate most high carb foods out there.
That's the main reason F2S is so easy to adopt as a lifestyle.

However, McDonald's fries have always been in a class by themselves.
These things WERE one of my all time favorite foods (to SuperSize).
At times, I used to really miss them too!

I have associated them with something yucky (that I won't disclose here) so if I happen to be near them and happen to smell them, I won't be at all tempted. Now, I no longer miss them in the least no matter how close they are to me!

If there is a high-carb food out there that you find hard to resist and there is no low-carb replacement that satisfies you, practice associating that food to something that causes you to lose your appetite... I mean REALLY meditate on it EVERY time you see, smell, or think about that item. After a short time, you will no longer feel any temptation AT ALL to eat it.
This mental "association" trick really does work!

The mind is a powerful thing. The body can only serve it's needs and desires.
Use your mind to help you be successful!

@Doug I just can't find Jimcama in Orlando, I have tried everywhere.

@mouseissue I do that exact thing except I enjoy the smell. It no longer bothers me to be around people eating my favorites, all the sugar cravings are gone now. Yesterday I sat with my son as he ate a piece of pumpkin pie that smelled and looked wonderful. I made him describe to me what it tasted like but I wasn't dying for it by any means. It is SO NICE to be in control of myself. In 42 years I have never felt like this. I even forgot to eat one day last week and trust me that has NEVER happened before. ;)

i have cheated and cheated I feel rotten. My mom is having a serious physical problem and so on top of my job I have taken over all her work PLUS taking care of her. Im exhausted all the time and by the time Im finished cooking for everyone else I dont feel like cooking for me. No one else will eat my food and Im at a loss. I also got bad news from the kidney doctor yesterday. He said my sodium level is dangerously low.  He all but pushed me down to the lab for more blood work. Im scared and I know I havent been eating right. Will someone come cook for me?  :'(

Beebs, we love you and this hurts my heart to read, makes me want to give you a big hug, sit you down and cook for you, lets start with a big hug.

HUGZ

Now lets concentrate on your food. You need to get back to the basics of fresh foods. meat, poultry, fish and greens, eggs and cheeses etc... I've watched over the past couple of months and it seems you've really drifted away from the basics. I want you to go right back to those basics.

Lets start with today; Eggs and protein for breakfast, tuna wrap (in lettuce) for lunch and a chicken breast with cauli mashed tators and broccoli for dinner.

I also want you to go back to the FAT TO SKINNY book ingredient list and remind yourself of all the FTS suggested foods.

The truth is honey, only you can take care of you, prioritize!  ;)

Beebs I know you know this ,but you are a type 1 diabetic! I wish I could come cook for you! But I can't so all I can tell you is I am here for you.I understand stress and that alone is horrible for you my dear friend, but you have to eat right! One of my best friends who is a type one just came by my house. She is losing her vision and her legs are going numb and she can't walk long because she won't eat right. The doctors say there is nothing they can do for her because she has abused her body for too long. She is the kind of person who will browse the dessert bar and then decide how many desserts she is gonna have and then adjust her insulin for what she is eating. And she is only in her late 50's! When she eats Fat to Skinny she doesn't have these issues but she won't eat right.
We are all here for you but you have to do the right thing for your health.I can't do it for you!(although I will harass you ! :D)
Its not so much about weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) for you its about good health. The weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) is just a by product of getting your sugars in line.
I am getting off the soapbox now! :)

After reading Doug's post, you know what you need to do.

Life can be tough sometimes, but please hang in there.
You and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers.

Have you even tried the tuna patties ? I dont like tuna out of a can but I like them when I make the patties .

My days are so different I hardly can keep a schedule of any kind.

The anwser is simple even for a hectic life... Eat when you feel hungry and don't eat when you don't.
Prepare yourself with quick and easy low-carb snacks and make meals ahead of time so you're ready.

But always try to make time to eat a "balanced" meal or two every day that includes some veggies and fiber.
Taking a multi-vitamin and mineral each day will help too!

After being bed fast for the last month well.....lets just say its not improving her humor. Im very tired. Mostly from the low sodium I guess. Merry Christmas to everyone.
