Recipe?   :)  Looks good!

ditto from me want the recipe and how you fixed it!!!

I've been experimenting with soups around here too.  I made a vegetable beef soup,  a chicken vegetable soup and some chili.  Today I experimented with a cheesy yellow squash soup.

Those sound good how did they turn out Suz ?

My soup was easy and cheap
1 can walmart chicken broth
3  Whylers chicken broth cubes
2 cups of water
Bag of tofu noodles (cut mine with scissors)
2 chicken breast cut up (that I had boiled before hand )
2-4 T butter or margarine

Yum!... I think I'll make some in the next few days.

The nights are starting to get pretty darn cold around here lately.
And there's nothing like hot chicken soup to thaw out the chill.

Thanks Jo! :) :) :)

Jo thanks for the recipe...now you've just added something else to my  "to buy" list and something I've really never eaten...tofu LOL.

How many carbs are in the Walmart broth...I've never looked at it, but found an organic chicken (Full Circle brand) broth the other day that I used that has 0 carbs where my Swanson's was 1 carb for a 1 cup serving (save those carbs wherever I can LOL)

Jo, this is my chili recipe.  If I counted carbs right they are included.  It actually tasted really good!!

FTS CHILI W/BEANS

                  Carb count
1 Cup     Hunts Diced Tomatos (½ c 4)                           8
2 Cups    Eden Black Soy Beans (½ c 1) rinsed               4
3 Tbls      Diced Frozen Onions (chopped)                       1.5
1/4 Cups  Heinz SF Ketchup (1 Tbl 1)                             4
½ tsp       Cholula Sauce                                               0
2 Cups     Water (may need to add more as simmers)      0
1 tsp        Garlic Salt                                                     0
4 tsps       Chili Powder                                                  0
1 tsp        Cumin                                                           0
1 ½ Cups  Cooked Ground Hamburger                            0

      Total Carbs                                      17.5

Placed all ingredients in pot.  Cook on high until starts to boil.  Lower heat to low and let simmer for approximately 2-3 hours stirring occassionally.  We used the 4 serving carb count.

Divide into servings.
      2 servings               8.75
      3 servings               5.83
      4 servings               4.38

My other soups were started with 1 cup of organic chicken broth and 2 cups of water.  I just added the vegetables I wanted (celery, cauliflower, tomatoes, diced onion, chunked zucchini and squash, black soy beans) and added garlic salt, basil and parsley flakes.  I tracked the carb counts for each of the vegetables and I put them in the pot.  I started 2 pots thinking they would be small, one for me and one for hubby LOL.  It ended up being about 13 carbs per pot; so I added cooked hamburger to one (vegetable beef soup) and leftover cooked chicken to the other (chicken vegetable soup).  I cooked both for about 2-3 hours (had to add water as they simmered down).   This ended up being really low carb since I divided each pot into 4 servings!  Both were really good.  For crackers I used a 2 carb serving of lavish bread that I had baked in the oven.
