General Discussion / Carb cycling
« on: February 16, 2014, 07:52:36 AM »
Anyone on the east coast see on NBC news this morning how " carb cycling " is making people drop weight and they have never felt better ? I was like duh !!!! Of course you do lol . They do two extreme low carb days , one "medium day" one high carb day and repeat along with a fitness plan . Even though it's not what we do exactly , at least people are starting to catch on 😁

General Discussion / Tea
« on: February 13, 2014, 10:23:23 AM »
Are there any carbs in black hot tea? Box says there is not but so does my coffee and we all know the debate about coffee. Just wondering because I have become a tea drinker as well as coffee as times. Thanks

General Discussion / I'm Back
« on: February 09, 2014, 03:40:00 PM »
Hello my friends !!
I am back and ready to go. Dan and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl on December 9th at 23:17. It was a looooong two days in labor. Miss Juliana weighed in at 7lbs 1oz , 21 inches long. She is two months today. She is a blessing from above. We could not ask for a better little girl.  She has slept from the day she was born, she is pleasant, laughs and smiles at us, and has stolen our hearts.
With that being said of course I am back where I started plus 10 pounds. I gained 48lbs during the pregnancy but know exactly what I need to do to get back to feeling amazing physically and mentally. So today is day one for us. Dan has decided to join me on this journey this time around :) (He has put on some baby weight himself haha) I am currently trying to review the book , and re-read certain post to refresh my memory. Things are a little different this time around with the baby, our new house that we moved in this summer, school, and work ( I haven't gone back yet ) so I am going to work on figuring out what works with all of my new changes in my life so that I can be as successful as I was previously. I look forward to catching up with all of you!! Looks like a lot of the same faces and many new ones too. Here are some pics of our bundle of joy .

Click Here To Share Your Success Story / size 12 dress
« on: February 10, 2013, 07:26:43 PM »
Many of you shared with me this summer my sister's wedding in Mexico and one of the reasons that brought me here to start my new lifestyle. The dress would not zip. After only 3 months of following the plan the dress had zip and was actually slightly big on me. Fast forward 8 months later, my youngest sister got engaged few weeks ago and had her engagement party this week. I am pleased to share with you all that I was able to fit in to a size 12 dress that fit me 4 years ago. I was thrilled to say the least that #1 I got into a dress that I had not been able to wear in years, and #2 I saved $$$ by not having to buy a new one! Feels so great!  ;D

General Discussion / eggs
« on: January 24, 2013, 08:47:27 PM »
Has anyone noticed on eggs that some are listed as 1 carb on their nutrtion label?
I read a post recently to recheck labels of things we buy all the time because maufacturers change them. It prompted me re-look at things I buy weekly and my eggs from shoprite list one egg as one carb? I am kind of mad about this lol ... any input?

Click Here To Share Your Success Story / week 30
« on: January 21, 2013, 07:11:26 AM »
Well I am at week 30 and I just can not believe how simple my new lifestyle remains and how successful I continue to be. Many of you know I had stalled out for quite awhile there and was frustrated like no other but I continued on with the plan and did not give u thanks to all the encouraging words here. What kept me going was how I "felt" I have said it before I have never felt better in my life. Unlike others I do not have diabetes, or hypertension or other health issues but was setting myself up for all of the above with all the extra weight I was carrying around. Was just sick and tired of being fat and feeling physically and emotionally horrible. Hoping to hit my goal weight in the next 30 weeks  ;D The sky is the limit for me !
