Title: Results and mood swings?
Post by: snobles on April 17, 2010, 07:51:40 PM
My husband and I have been on the "change of life book" for about a week now. We were just wondering, how long before we start seeing results? and also, how does everybody deal with the mood swings??? I have been very moody, and like I'm looking for an arguement! lol...I stay that way most of the time. Any suggestions? It's like the littlest things set me off! Thanks!!

You are going through "Sugar Withdrawals" which may last as long as two to three weeks. For some people its mild for others who have been addicted to sugar for a long time it can be quite disturbing. Sugar is as addicting as drugs and breaking it off will have some effects. I remember waking up in the middle of the night with the shakes. The good news is once your through it it's gone and doesn't return. After the initial weigh in I suggest you stay off the scale for 14 days before the send weigh in. Weighing yourself too often will create too much anxiety, something you don't need! Stay the course, all will be well.

Interesting.  I didnt really have mood swings but I think that may be due to the fact that my blood sugars were so much better that I just felt great.

It takes about two to three weeks to detox the sugar from your body.Headaches are also common.

I just felt shaky. Guess I was fortunate, or else I wasnt eating as much sugar as others and that made mine easier.

Actually you are doing everything right. If you are not cranky or shakey it means your eating the right amount of food at the right times. You are a diabetic you know this. :D

Feel irritable?, grab two or three meat and cheese roll ups or a couple of string cheese sticks ad go for a walk. The fat in the cheese will make you fill full after 15 minutes and calm you down. The walk gets you away from your loved ones or co-workers for 15 minutes. I like string cheese for a quick snack, it's pre-packaged individual portions are great. It comes in Mozzarella and Mozzarella Colby mixed and is zero sugar.
