Title: old doctor scales that rattle.....
Post by: Maddysmom on December 06, 2011, 11:02:26 AM
So today I went for my yearly visit to the ob/gyn.  I've gone to this same doctor for over 25 years now.  I had just started FTS when I was there last year.  However, when I was there 2 years ago, I couldn't even weigh on his scales!  He still has one of those old type doctor scales with the slide at the top....and it only goes to 350.  :-[  At that visit, he suggested that I talk with my internist to see if I might be a candidate for weight-loss surgery.  :-\  ...as I've told ya'll before, my mother in law agreed to pay for it too!  My internist told me, "NO, you are healthy and you can lose-weight without surgery."

Well, I have to say it was kind of fun weighing on that old rattly scale this morning!  ;D ha ha  When he asked what I had done, I gave him the whole FTS spill, and he told me to keep up the good work!  The AWESOME thing was that he then said that I had done BETTER than alot of people who have the surgery!!! ;D  Wow...This all just came around full circle for me today.  I have said this often but here goes again....I AM SO THANKFUL FOR FTS!!  ;D

God bless ya, Jan! :)

I'm happy that you did NOT have bariatric surgery.
FTS is so much more effective. And its "side effects" are pretty cool too!

KUDOS!!! ;D ;D ;D

I remember when I went to see my doctor for the first time after I had lost about 80 pounds.....He demanded I be tested for HIV! He couldn't believe I had lost so much weight in 5 months simply by eating FTS  :o Needless to say when my blood profile came back clean and very healthy top to bottom he had a whole new interest in what I was doing  ;)

Congrats Jan. You must have felt so good to pop on that scale and be able to use it. I know that feeling and how embarrassing it is when you have to say it's not going to work for you.

WAY TO GO JAN!!!!

Yeah, I remember that day a couple years ago at 376 when I couldn't weigh on that scale.  He asked me, "Do you have an idea of how much you weigh?"  Oh man....how humiliating.  Just makes you want to say....well as soon as I find a "loading dock" to weigh on, I will let you know!!!  :-[   SOOOO glad those days are gone forever.  ;)
