General Discussion / Pretty Ticked Off!
« on: March 07, 2012, 09:18:20 PM »
Since my youngest child started a new school, here in the sunshine state, and he's still a diabetic, the school nurse, sent home a menu of the "choices" the kids have. I kid you not, the lowest amount of carbs on the menu was 35! Even with salads! The carb amounts even went up to 5o! No wonder why school age children are diabetic! They don't even realize they're slowly killing the next generation! I'm going to have to make a copy of the menu and post it on here! It's just totally rediculous! Luckily, he has para professionals, because he is ese, and I told the school nurse, that he can have the stuff in the sandwhich, just not the bread! and she was suprisingly willing to work with us on that! I just can't believe how many carbs are on our kids lunch menus! Doug, you need to start hitting the school cafeterias!! Pronto! ;D

Cause kids are grown enough to where I can sleep during the day! We are still a little un organized! But things have started "somewhat" settleing down! And I promise I will start posting more! I've on more than one occation have just wanted to just pull all my hair out and throw a fit! But "I have survived" so far! I guess can't give up now?!

General Discussion / So tired of cooks....
« on: January 09, 2012, 03:22:37 PM »
Doug, you seriously need your own show on Food Network!! I am sooo sick and tired of seeing all these chefs, "claiming" to be cooking healthy as they ruin berries by putting sugar and syrup on them, and useing wheat pasta! They think, just because it says "wheat" on it, it's healthy!!

But we're sticking to our plan(fts!)and our 15yr. olds lunches have been changed around for a while now, it has come down, but he's still diabetic. Pretty soon, we'll all be diabetic free! (Not that I was ever! I have adapted to living with three diabetics!, Not going to lie, it was extremely hard at first, now it's just second/first nature!)

General Discussion / Should I be concerned about this?
« on: December 12, 2011, 04:36:22 PM »
Hey guys. Got the results from my a1c, from like June! and it was 6.2, she did another test today. Should I be concerned about a 6.2, only reason I'm worried is, it's never been that high before! And also, after I took my shoes off, LoL...and the nurse told me to take off my jacket, I weighed in at 198! I love it when my home scale and the dr.'s scale cooperate!! LoL...

General Discussion / Seasons Greetings:-)
« on: December 01, 2011, 11:15:31 AM »
I don't want much for Christmas, I just want the person reading this to be happy. At Christmas you always hear people talking about what they want & bought. This is what I want: I want people who are sick with no cure to be able to be cured. I want children with no families to be adopted. I want people to never have to worry about food, shelter & heat. I want hope for the hopeless and I want them to know they can have Peace through Jesus!

General Discussion / Update!!
« on: November 25, 2011, 11:56:14 AM »
Hi guys! Well, I FINALLY made it to the 200 mark! I never thought I'd get there in a million years! Our oldest son went from 314 and weighed in at 296! Not sure about Justin, he's not awake YET!! lol...Husband went from 345 to 258!! My 18 petites are falling off of me! I have to wear a belt!! So cool. Never thought in my adult life, I would wear "anything" petite! And the cool thing is, unlike the "Other" diets, fads, etc...we are literally NOT starving! By any means!
Thank you Doug and Umpa for all the research you do and for helping us to see the light! Just wish the rest of the world would come around!
