What kind of exercise do you do?
« on: October 02, 2013, 03:22:28 PM »
Tomorrow I'm going to go get a pair of walking boots. I'm going to start with short distance and build up from there. Right now I'm not able to do anything else. As inspiration I've hung my leather jacket up so I can see it. I wore it when I was in the Navy 30 years ago when I weighted 140 pounds. 200+pounds ago.

Great idea, Souper! :) :) :)

We should keep visual reminders around.
They are very helpful when we feel weak.

Walking is a wonderful exercise (almost as good as swimming)!
Starting with short distances and building is the right way to go.

When you walk, don't stroll... Walk like you need to be somewhere very soon.
That will add the cardio component to kick your metabolism into a higher gear.

I've been lifting weights and lots of stretching.  I hurt my lower back/hip last summer and am still rehabbing that.  That injury has kept me off the treadmill and bike ( which is just fine with me!).  I also had rotator cuff surgery a while back that I am still trying to get strength back from.  I'm really hoping the strength training will kick my slow metabolism into gear.  The daily stretching seems to really help too.

I love my treadmill, 3 times a week.I also have a bicycle I like to ride to the grocery store so I don't buy too much. ;)
