Moroccan Burgers

Burgers:
1 pound lean ground beef
2 Apricots, finely chopped  (6 carbs)
2 tablespoons hulled Sunflower Seeds
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Cumin
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon Black Peppercorns, ground
4 large romaine lettuce leaves or 4 LaTortilla Low Carb Tortillas for wraps.

Sauce:
1/3 cup sugar free ketchup
1/8 teaspoon Cumin
1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground coriander
1/8 teaspoon Black Peppercorns, ground

In a small bowl combine all sauce ingredients and stir until well blended. Set aside. In a large bowl combine beef, apricots, sunflower seeds and all hamburger spices. Shape mixture into four football shapes, then flatten to 1 inch thick patties. If grilling outdoors, grill patties on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium heat for 14 to 18 minutes or until done (160° F), turning once halfway through grilling. For indoor grills, heat grill to medium heat and cook according to specific grilling instructions or until done. Serve burgers in wraps topped with sauce.

Makes 4 burgers.

This looks delicious, I love when my burgers have a little crunch to them. I have been trying to get my kids to eat a wider range of food and I know they will eat hamburgers. It looks a little spicy but very healthy. Thanks for the recipe.
