Scott in Florida - 30 weeks
« on: March 30, 2011, 09:15:05 AM »
I expected to slip a little this week.  We ate out at restaurants more than usual due to having out of town guests and birthday celebrations.  I still avoided carbs when possible, but the problem was portion size.  The scale reflected this, and showed a 1.6 pound gain.  Not happy with that, but I've been reporting the "good" for 30 weeks, so the "bad" has to get reported too.  Thanks to you all for keeping me accountable!

I am happy with my progress in running.  Deliberately building distance slowly, and this week I am doing 3x 2.5 miles.  Actually enjoying being out at 6 am before the sun comes up, running by the light of the street lights.  It feels like I am getting a head start on the day by doing something positive.

I am also beginning a week-long experiment today.  One of the things I have become fond of is protein bars.  The one I commonly have is only about 5 carbs, but has high sugar alcohols.  I think they may be the culprit in slowing down the rate of my weight loss over the last several weeks.  This week, I am having none of them.  As always, I will report the results here next Wednesday morning in my "31 week" post.

Talk to you soon -

Scott

Wow Scott!... It's been 30 weeks already!... Time sure does fly!

I would expect a gain by eating too much AND having too many sugar alcohols.
One or the other, would usually cause a stall. But both?... I'm not surprised. Nor should you be.

When you really think about it, when we mess up, we have an opportunity to learn how our bodies respond to things.
This information is not only helpful now. But will be of great help when maintaining goal weight for the rest of our lives. ;)

What you do today is what matters!
