Title: Yummy Low Carb Fried Rice
Post by: Doug Varrieur on May 21, 2011, 10:01:28 AM
I Love Chinese food but as you all know starch, starch and more starch are found in the cuisine. Of course the starch turns directly into blood sugar and makes us FAT. That doesn't mean you can't eat it...you simply need to make some changes to the recipes to make them starch free.  Here's my solution for delicious fried rice, I make a big batch and enjoy it as a side over a few days  ;)

3 cups cauliflower processed into "rice"- 4.5 carbs
1/4 cup Seal Sama sugar free teriyaki sauce- 4 carbs
3 Scallions (green onion) chopped- 1 carb
1 cup shredded green cabbage- 3 carbs
2 cups of protein of your choice (shrimp, beef, pork, turkey, fish  even tofu)
1 teaspoon ginger powder
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon butter

12.5 net carbs for entire recipe

1- Mix all the ingredients except the protein and the oils in a bowl and set aside
2- Heat the oils in a large non stick skillet over medium high heat and stir fry the protein until cooked
3- Throw everything else in with the protein and stir fry until heated through
4- Remove from heat and stir in the butter
5- Salt and pepper to taste then serve
