Hi Millie

Yes carrots are a bit high  :o  If you must have something maybe switch to celery or jicama sticks

You might want to go back and read the section on veggies in Doug's book.  He gives a list of all that are great to enjoy with their net carb counts for 1/2 cup servings.  Remember though...if you aren't really hungry you shouldn't be snacking  ;)   Some times it is just out of habit or boredom that we want to snack.

Millie,
Can you drink water instead of "munching when you're not really hungry?"  You'll get a lot of carbs from carrots so something else is important but you should proabably see if you can replace that munching habit.  Walk out of the kitchen and away from the food or munch on 5 almonds instead.

Hi Millie! :)

Research which foods would make good snack foods for you.
Doug's book is an excellent place to start.

Here's a website I use to check the carb counts of most foods;
http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/list

This one is pretty handy, too;
http://www.lowcarb.ca/low-carb-tools/hidden_carbs.html

To have the best success, ALWAYS know what enters your mouth before it does. ;)
What you do today is what matters!

Carrot is very beneficial for the health.
It supports the heart and improves the eye site.
The best time for eating the carrots is day time.
You should use the carrot as salad in your lunch.

Chandler,
Welcome to the forum.  Carrots are a vegetable that has a relatively high carbohydrate count and is not the best choice on a low carb eating plan.

Have you read Doug's book?  It will help you understand what we are trying to do here.
