Title: So Delicious Dairy Free/No Sugar Added/Coconut Frozen Desserts
Post by: shawn116 on June 23, 2013, 09:58:08 AM
Has anyone tried these???  I think I'm in love  Haha   ;D ;D  http://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/products/coconut-milk-frozen-desserts (http://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/products/coconut-milk-frozen-desserts)

They have several flavors in pint containers with 4.... 1/2 cup servings each:
No Sugar Added Vanilla Bean: (Sorry I don't have the stats for the vanilla...daughter didn't get that one for me)
No Sugar Added Chocolate:  18g Total Carbohydrate - 10g Dietary Fiber - 3g Sugar Alcohol = 5g Net Carbs
No Sugar Added Toasted Almond Chip:   18g Total Carbohydrate - 10g Dietary Fiber - 4g Sugar Alcohol = 4g Net Carbs
No Sugar Added Mint Chip:  18g Total Carbohydrate - 10g Dietary Fiber - 5g Sugar Alcohol = 3g Net Carbs  ;D
No Sugar Added Butter Pecan:   17g Total Carbohydrate - 10g Dietary Fiber - 3g Sugar Alcohol = 4g Net Carbs

My wonderful daughter found these at Whole Foods and bought me a case  Haha   ;D ;D  (love that girl!!)  What I like best about these is that they are sweetened with erythritol and stevia extract.  Here is the ingredients list for the No Sugar Added Mint Chip

Ingredients: ORGANIC COCONUT MILK (WATER, ORGANIC COCONUT CREAM), GUM ARABIC, CHOCOLATE FLAKE [COCONUT OIL, ERYTHRITOL, INULIN, COCOA PROCESSED WITH ALKALI, CHOCOLATE LIQUOR, VANILLA, REB A (STEVIA EXTRACT)], VEGETABLE GLYCERIN, CHICORY ROOT EXTRACT, ERYTHRITOL, NATURAL FLAVORS, SEA SALT, LOCUST BEAN GUM, GUAR GUM, CARRAGEENAN, MONK FRUIT EXTRACT.

If you don't care for the taste for coconut then I suppose this isn't for you.  While the flavor is slight I do taste the coconut in there.  It is so nice to be able to find something like this to enjoy that I don't have to make myself.  I know....I get lazy sometimes.   ;D  So far the mint chip is my favorite...I have to admit I haven't tried all the flavors yet, but it won't take me too long  ;)  I'm thinking of making some ice cream sandwiches to help control my serving sizes....Yumm!!

I'm also excited to try the single serve So Delicious Coconut Milk 1g Total Carb - 1g Fiber = 0g net carbs  ;D ;D  These would be great for on the go  ;) http://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/products/coconut-milk-beverages/sugar-free-original-single-serve (http://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/products/coconut-milk-beverages/sugar-free-original-single-serve)

On the web site they have a store finder so you can see where to find it in your area.  By the way if your store carries any of this brand they should be able to order these as well.  Bug your grocery store manager  ;) ;D

Just thought I would share my recent find with my FTS peeps.

Stay cool out there folks  8)

I would send you some if I could friend  :)  I'm afraid it wouldn't be worth much by the time it got there though....

Hey TooSweet! I have tried those :) when I was vegan that was one of the only frozen "ice cream" desserts I could have! I LOVE all the SoDelicious products. You can also get them at Kroger Signature and some regular Kroger stores btw! There's where I get mine, we don't have a whole foods here :D they are awesome, and most of them don't have a strong coconutty flavor persay, so even if you don't like coconut (my hubby doesn't) most people will still find them tasty. I can't tell you how many times I caught my husband sneaking my yummies and eating them  :D :D glad you found them!

Just a word of caution though guys....they are a bit pricey  :'(  I've kinda grown accustomed to everything low/sugar free and/or low carb being higher in price and less product in the package.   I'm hoping that will change someday  :-\  I just don't want you guys to have sticker shock  Haha   ;D   These will be a special treat for me  ;)

Taby thanks for the tip....I hadn't looked at the Krogers that I go to before.  I usually pass up the freezer section because It's 1 1/2 hours away from me.  That is where I get my yogurt though...so there is no problem with keeping them cold.   I'll look to see if they may be a little cheaper there....that would be great!!

No Sugar Added Toasted Almond Chip is running a close second with the mint chip...Haha

There are some made with almond milk too...but they are harder to find :\ that's how Whole Foods is here for me, it's 3 hours away to the closest one in Houston >:O

I like to make my own to save money too Umpa but sometimes I feel a little lazy and don't want to make everything all the time  Haha  It's just nice to know that there is something ready made in the store I can grab for a treat once in a while that isn't loaded with junk or sugar  ;D

Jo you should be able to ask them to stock the no sugar added if they have the other.   ;)  I'm betting the whole foods will be more expensive...mine where more than 5 a piece.  I will be on the lookout at other places to find the cheapest.

I don't have a big ice cream maker but I did pick up one that is hand crank....you keep the bowl in the freezer until you are ready to use it.  It's kinda fun to use and pretty fast.  I've been thinking of getting the same kind that attaches to my mixer.  I've just not done it yet.  That might be my next gadget purchase....Haha   ;D ;D

Toosweet I told doug we should start our own food line, reasonably priced! I get sticker shock when I go to the whole foods.I always end up leaving and whipping out my smart phone and ordering stuff in the car  online on the way home :D

I know just what you mean Umpa...Haha  I hate when people over charge just because they feel it's a "special item"  Grrrr   Some of those "fancy" grocery stores will charge quite a bit more as well just because they cater to "fancy people".  That may not be the case but it seems plausible to me  :-\   I try to keep a book of the things I like to keep on hand and where I got them from along with the prices.  It's helpful when I run across it in another venue to know where may be the least expensive.   More times than not, ordering online is the best way to go....saves on gas too  ;D ;D

You should totally do a food line  8)  I wish I had the energy to do a bakery.  This darn arthritis just won't let me do what my brain thinks it can Haha  ;D

I actually bought little single serving plastic cups(500 of them) and I will make up 3 different ice creams and put them in the cups in the freezer. Then when i want some ice cream I am not eating out of a carton. My cups are 1/4 cup serving. Portion control is hard for me so this helps ;)

Me too Umpa....me too  :-\

That is a great idea.  I should try that with what I have in the freezer.  I bet it will help cut down on how often I have to replenish my stock   ;D ;D  ;)
