Hi, Morgan! :)

I used Diet Coke once an it tasted just fine. Diet Pepsi should work, too.

Dr. Pepper does give the recipe a special taste that colas do not.
But in a pinch, go for it! :)

I've seen a recipe for Peach Brined Pork that uses Peach Fruit 2 0.  Have not tried it yet.  I've always loved both the cola and dr pepper pork.  Living in Michigan for so many years we were crock pot and pressure cooker fanatics.  We would use both outside in Spring and summer.  When we moved south - we use these appliances all year round to keep temps steady in the house.  If you have a side burner on your grill you can use a stove top pressure cooker.  Otherwise as long as you have an outlet you're good with both!  We travel with our electric pressure cooker (by car) - crazy what we've made in hotel rooms when hubby is on business!

I never even heard of cola pork lol . I love my crockpot sunshine and always am looking for recipes to make . Especially now with a new baby I need to conserve time and when I return to work in two weeks it's going to be crucial in order for me to remain successful . I never used a pressure cooker is it hard ?

It's very simple especially if you get an electric one.  I got a Cuisinart at Bed Bath & Beyond with a coupon under $100.  You can look up recipes to get an idea of what's possible.  I've made cheesecake, chicken wings. Veal, pork, beef, chicken and even little quiches etc.

Only asking because dr pepper is not easy to come by (have to go to a specialty shop) let alone diet dr pepper. Is it a more root beer or sarsparilla taste?

Thanks Steph. One step closer was able to get cherry coke zero. Think that's as close as I going to get. All ingredients  are go. Even bought new slow cooker. I had one of the original  crockpots. Was an engagement pressie in 1973/4.  Think I decided to toss it my last house move, it was someway battered and bruised - very well used. :D
