French Toast
« on: November 17, 2010, 04:25:05 PM »
I made my second batch of Izzet's bread recipe. I made it on a bigger cookie pan so it would be thinner and I wouldn't have to slice it to get two pieces of thin bread. I then dipped a slice in an egg/heavy cream mixture and cooked it. While it was cooking, I added a little xylitol and cinnamon to one side. When it was done, I topped it with a dab of butter and some SF syrup!!!

OMG, it was a little slice of heaven! It was as good as any french toast I ever had before (when I was eating poison!).

That sounds wonderful Owensmath!

Izzet's bread is so wonderful. I've been using muffin top pans to make mine, using a measured portion of the batter depending on which pan I use to keep the pieces uniform. Works great!

I'm new here, but want to look into this. I had some low-carb pancakes the other day for the first time in over 3 months and thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

I'm thinking of trying this with the 1-minute muffin mix. I've used that to make grilled cheese sandwiches, so I'm guessin git would work the same.

Made French Toast this morning with the 1 minute muffin/bread and it was great!  Just fixed the 1 minute bread (I use almond meal instead of flax) and then dip in heavy cream/egg or egg white mixture. I used SF syrup and butter to top.  Very tasty! :)
