The best thing for oily skin is witch hazel, and its very cheap. You have to make sure you are drinking enough water too to flush out your pores.I have really dry skin but around my period my skin gets oily and I break out and i am not 16 i am 45! :D
Let me know if this helps if not I make a tea tree calendula spray i will give you the recipe for.Germs cannot live in it.We use it for everything.

My skin has gotten oilier too. I wondered if it was the change in diet, all the meats possibly?

Is it a liquid or a pill?

liquid, usually near rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide

Thats right Joanne. You put it on a cotton ball Beebs. It is a good astringent.I think SherriPie that the body realeases toxins through the skin.It is a natural and healthy process.

Try the witch hazel,If that doesn't work then you can try essential oils. There are essential oils that bacteria can't survive in.

Have you guys tried Proactive? I used that after the birth of my son 11 years ago and it rocked. Cleared it right up. I am thinking about trying it again if it doesn't clear up. I look like I have teenage skin at 40. LOL

I tried Proactive and all it did was dry out my skin, really bad! Now I use Tetracycline, it's a pill. so far so good! Good luck!

Proactive is a skin system that they are always trying to sell on tv. Now 11 years ago it rocked, cleared it right up and I have really sensitive skin. Sounds like they might have changed their business practices since then.

I agree with Umpa...this is my area...natural remedies. :D I even make my own homemade whipped raw shea butter.   I alternate between witch hazel and I also bought a little spray bottle in the travel size section of Wal-mart and put green tea in it which is an excellent toner/astringent.

1 cup of boiling water and a green tea bag.  Let it steep about 10 minutes then let cool then pour in the spray bottle.  You can store it for a week in the frig.  Very refreshing on the skin first thing in the morning and at night. ;)  Your skin/pores will improve as well with regular use.

One of the things that works great for me (and my girls) is St. Ives Facial Scrub,
I use it EVERY morning in the shower...comes in a medicated version too.
Very cheap at Walmart...
Might help with the dryness...
Sandy  ;)

Well I still havent made whipped shea butter and my skin is still oily. Are you supposed to rub the witch hazel in or just spray it on?

A trick thats been passed down through generations in my family is simple one and my mom has amazing skin at 55 barely any wrinkles or skin problems ... same with me ... I recently stopped doing it and I ended up getting acne for first time in my life ... now that Ive resumed my skin is back to being flawless

simple and cheap ...

cut a slice of lemon and rub it all over face and let dry on skin over night

lemons act as astringent, exfoliant, toner, skin brightener, antibacterial agent, vitamin supplement, will curb any break outs (good for those suffering hormonal acne)

I also use it as a makeup primer ... I rub it on face let dry and pick off any stray lemon pieces and my makeup goes on even.

In winter if my skin gets a bit dry (i find my nose and forehead tend to) then I dont run lemon on there instead i sleep with some olive oil on those areas.

Anyway its a cheap solution ... actually works ... give it a week or so ... you'll notice improvement :)

Let me know how it works out for you

I am not a makeup wearer so, wrinkles and lines show the minute they arrive on my face.  There is nothing worse than your teenage daughters telling you how much older you look than their friend's mothers.  So when a friend told me to try Made From Earth's Olive Night Cream, I was interested.

She bought me a jar online.  How could I not use it?  OMG.  It really works.  Like many things you have to be patient and not judge the results before the proper time, in this case at least 4 weeks and preferably 8.  I started using the Olive Night Cream, I placed it by the sink and used the morning eye cream just after doing my hair, and the pm just after brushing my teeth at night.  But I have to admit after even one week I thought I saw results, but after 4 others definitely noticed a difference.  They were not sure what, but everyone said I looked rested, calm. and great. At eight weeks, even my children thought I looked good.  Miracles never cease to happen.  I love this product and highly recommend it.
