Sugar Snafu!
« on: July 08, 2010, 07:52:39 PM »
For those of you who wonder what effect re-loading on sugar will have on your system here`s my experiance. Stuck at the Dallas airport with jet lag I accidently drank a full sugar Mountain Dew thinking I grabbed a diet. I feel ill and uncomfortable. First sugar I`ve had in years.

Ugh! Between the sugar and the caffeine your body must be having a fit. Feel better soon.

Oh no Doug!
Could you feel your heart pounding out of your chest from all the sugar and caffeine?
I'm sorry that happened to you!

Mountain Dew was a favorite of mine. I have not had regular pop in weeks...I bet it really affected you after years...
Hope you feel better fast!

Hey Doug,  Hope you are feeling much better today!  Thanks, again, for the program. Thanks too for reminding us that even when we accidentally make a wrong choice, we will feel bad physically and mentally. I ate a strawberry and could really taste the natural sugar much stronger than ever before!  Even though this is a healthy choice, I was quite surprised at how strong the sugar came through.  Question:  How long does it take an average person to get the sugar out of their system when they first start on the program?  Also, can you sabotage your system by eating too many Russell Stover candies even when keeping the carb count under 20 per day and eating healthy foods during the course of the day?  Inches are coming off but only 1-2 pounds and I'm in week 6?  Thanks for your input!!!

Ok it takes about 2 weeks for sugar withdraw. Sugar alcohols in the russell stover candies CAN stall weight loss. Cut back on them.

One time at a restaurant, the server accidentally put my son's coke in front of me and my diet coke in front of him. I took one sip from it and my throat began to burn. He tasted his drink and said, "Mom! STOP! That's got sugar in it. I have YOUR drink."   It was awful. I can't imagine drinking more than that one sip...it must feel awful. YUCK. I hope you're feeling better.
