Welcome Armywife4 I'm not sure I understand your topic title. " feel like i am gaining weight in my second week" Have you stepped on the scale? Breast feeding should make no difference.

Welcome to the family, Armywife4!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Our bodies go through many changes when we start FTS.
Sugar detox is like slamming on the brakes and shifting right into reverse.
Things do settle down a lot after the first two weeks.

And remember this, weight is is more than just the number on a scale.
We lose size and experience many biochemical changes in our bodies as well.

Be sure to take your measurements frequently.
And watch how your clothes are fitting. You should notice them getting looser.
That's when you know you're making real progress. ;)

Remember to drink enough water to make milk for baby and to keep your body from conserving on any level.  Also you need to eat enough for baby and you. Not more than you need, just the right amount to also keep your body from conserving.
Read http://www.zoeharcombe.com/the-knowledge/20-diet-myths-busted/ (http://www.zoeharcombe.com/the-knowledge/20-diet-myths-busted/)
It will explain how our body conserves/reserves when we don't eat enough...and drinking enough should be included as well.
My first week or two (age 56) was kind of  disappointing, in that I wasn't losing as quickly as I thought I should, but I have anorexic tendencies.  Was anorexic in my late 20s (extreme vegetarian).  My old thinking is if I eat less, I will lose faster. NOT!
In fact, I am hungry and ignoring it as I write...and have been for a couple hours.  See....
Had two of the grandsons overnight this week and was lamenting that I'd gain a few pounds prior to their visit. (not eating or drinking enough a few days prior)  Their visit it seemed I was eating and drinking too much, although I felt fine and not stuffed.  Then the scale started back down. Ha!
All the best,
Ann

Ha! Second this! I think my gears are grinding as well. Then the tires squeal and it backfires. Then I get it in drive and start moving forward. Slowly at first and then faster. There is some serious cellular level change going on here too. We can't see it but it's there. I judge by how I feel.
