  Hey there!

    My name is Sherri Crosby, but you can call me Shercat051703. I just got the book, (the red one with the CD)  and I have started watching what goes in my mouth now. I gave away a bunch of unhealthy food and realized I neglected to throw out the sugar and flour. Is there any thing else people commonly don't think to throw away?? Thanks!  :)

Hi Shercat  Welcome to the FTS family!!  ;D   It is funny but when I first started I spent all day reading every label of things I had in the house.  Wow I didn't realize the junk I had collected.... :o LOL  Unfortunately I have to keep some things on hand that aren't approved because the hubs still likes his carbs  :P  Once I accidentally grabbed the regular maple syrup .....good thing I noticed before it was to late.  Ha! Little does he know we are slowly becoming all sugar free  ;)   Every now and then I run across something I never thought about having carbs in them  :-\

Welcome Sherri, I think people forget about the canned goods....corn, beans etc... Give them all to the food bank :) Welcome to the forum!

I have a big family, so I didn't throw anything away. I figured I'd be nice and let the other people in my house eat. They're all skinny little things anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. Over time, I've gotten them to try low-carb things and they like them. My two youngest have also started reading labels and checking carb counts, which is awesome because they're only 12 and 9 years old.

Anyway, welcome to the forum, Shercat! :)

Hello Sherri!  Welcome to the fts forum!  I really do like the new edition of FTS and the cd is GREAT!!   Like Rena, I really didn't throw away anything either.  My family still thinks they have to have carbs too.  So, I just make sure I always have what I need so that I don't have to eat the "cow food" anymore.   ;)

You will be amazed at the great recipes, and you will really enjoy getting to know all the folks here!  They are wonderful!   ;D

I am a sherri too ,LOL not really  I am Jo welcome to FTS . I did not get rid of anything either I  had to still cook and fix high carb food for my hubby he is not ready yet . I just had to be strong !!! After the first 2-3 weeks it was easy to stay away from the crap .

In the future, I think I will call you Shercat051703 so as to not cause any confusion. ::)

Watch out for all prepackaged foods. Most of them are high in carbs.
If you find any in your house, toss them!

Lol! you guys have me rolling!! I have noticed I love the recipes and I am well on my way to being Skinny! I am 5ft 10in and I weigh a whopping 200 lbs. :'(  I have noticed inches coming off very excited because I love to eat! Not sure about what the poll is for though?
