Post by: beebs on April 04, 2011, 07:20:56 AM
So, I went on vacation last week and discovered something new. Chocolate covered bacon. Anyone tried this?

Hi beebs! :)

Since such things as deep fried ice cream exist, I suppose chocolate covered bacon does too!
Did you try it?
If you did, was it any good?

If it was, you could make SF chocolate with unsweetened baker's chocolate, unsweetened cocoa, heavy cream, and xylitol.
Dip cooled strips of cooked bacon in it.
Then put the strips in the fridge (on parchment or wax paper) to harden up the chocolate.

As a child, I got sick once after eating a lot of fatty food followed by a lot of candy.
So I think I'll take a pass on this.

I don't know guys, I like bacon and I like chocolate but the combination sounds kinda nasty!

But if someone is daring I say go for it and let us know what you think :o

That's a super popular thing out here!  And while I have not tried it, I have been told it is AMAZING!  Think chocolate with a little smoke and salt.  If you like bacon and you like chocolate, I think you will love the combo. One of my coworkers is a bacon freak; he is going to test run bacon brownies (Not FTS, oh well). :) :)
