Delicate suject
« on: March 04, 2011, 08:55:46 AM »
OK, so here is the question...

Did anyone have any problems going to the bathroom at the beginning of this?
Could my body be reacting to the change in protein? plus the elimination of fruit?
Just wondering?

Feel free to delete this after we have found an answer....so embarrassing!  :-[

We all went through that and still do at times. Drink lots of water it really helps. Might try metamucil or miralax too??

Yes we have all been through it ,one thing is I dont think we have to go as much cause we are eating less . The GG crisbread has helped me alot and water water water LOL  sometimes I take the little red pills from walmart they are a very light laxative with stool softner ,but do not need them like I use to . Make sure you are getting your carbs from veggies instead of other stuff that is what helped me .
I thnk sometimes when we (well I did ) first start we get our carbs from junk stuff instead of real food and veggies and that does make a difference .On most days all my carbs come from veggies unless I HAVE to have a bar for the sweet or a emergency time outside the house . But Umpas PB cookies fix the sweet need with no carbs and also has fiber for the problem you are having !!!

Drink lots of water and eat lots of veggies and fibre.  GG Bran Crispbread, Flax crackers, bread, pancakes, etc.  I even throw a couple of tablespoons of golden flax meal in my smoothie.

Did you mean bran crisps (like GG), Bella?
Most rye crackers and breads in the stores (and online) are LOADED with carbs!!!

By themselves, caraway (rye) seeds are only about 1 net gram per TBSP.
If you found good rye crackers that are low carb, please share your source.
I love the flavor of rye!!!

It took me about 3 weeks on FTS to figure out how/what/when to eat and not be constipated. It's very important to drink lots. When I'm going to have a drink of water I stand at the sink and run the cold water then drink a whole glass, then fill it again before walking away. That way I always get 2 glasses.
I had to purposely plan to include fibre in my diet. I could be quite happy eating only meat and cheese, which is one of the reasons FTS works for me. But fibre is important to keep your insides moving well. Try the recipe I posted in the Bread and Crackers section for high-fibre crackers.
http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?board=30.0
I make it a couple times a week and have about a quarter of the recipe every morning. I enjoy the taste (alot more than GG crispbread!!) and it's easy to make. When you're eating fibre, the fibre soaks up liquid and that adds more bulk so it's important to combine fibre and water-intake.
