« on: April 03, 2010, 05:20:18 PM »
Ok yesterday I had ggcrispbread with a little peanut butter. then I had a cheese tortilla and sugar free jello. 1 hotdog and a serving of almond milk. 3 pieces of spinach bread pizza with no garlic added cheese and pepperoni for snack I had one of my choco treats and a piece of ggbread with peanut butter. Im using smuckers all natural til I get my beanit butter. I spread a real thin layer on the bread. 4 diet cokes mixed with water to drink.

Hi Beebs, for the next 7 days I want you to eat nothing but protein, fats and greens. We need to find your tolerance level for sugar so we're going to start with a zero or close to zero intake of carbs. This means no spinach bread, tortillas or gg. Although they are all very low in sugar I need to see where you "kick off"  Today is Easter so its a good day to hard boil a dozen eggs, great snack or quick breakfast. Go into the book and make up a few snack trays from the recipe section. Eat only the lowest sugar count veggies from the veggie list with your meat, poultry and seafood. I'll allow the diet cokes to stay this week so you get your "sweet fix". Weigh in this morning and not again till next Sunday, same time. I want you to only eat when you're hungry and eat only enough food to satisfy your immediate needs.

This is YOUR week beebs, the weight should start dropping off. Next sunday we'll add a little more sugar back into your intake for the following week and see what happens  ;) HAPPY EASTER!

I think I may have actually figured out the problem. Im sucha dolt. I keep having low blood sugars and have been correcting them with guess what? Juice. Yes that's right. Juice. Doh. I have lowered my insulin intake significantly and it's still to much soooo Im lowering it again. No juice=good thing.

I've adjusted my insulin. Again. I have gone from approximately 100+ units a day to less than 50 and it's still going down. I have gone down a shirt size and a pants size it seems. I have to lose more than 5 pounds yet my scale says the same thing every time. arghhh.

Don't be frustrated, you did'nt get into this mess overnight and it's unreasonable to expect to get out of it overnight. Celebrate your wins and stay off the scale now till next Sunday. NO SUGAR!!!!!!

That must make you very happy. I'm sure between you and your doctor you'll get your insulin balanced for your new low sugar lifestyle. Wouldn't it be nice if your pancreas was able to cover your needs. How long have you been a type two AKA Sugar Diabetic?

Gotcha, pancreas take over won't be an option for you  :'( Please make sure to keep your doctor in the loop. Removing all sugar from your intake will certainly require insulin adjustment and I want to make sure you're being medically advised. Being a type 1 where your diabetes is not your fault must make it hard for you to feel sorry for those who eat their way into the disease. At least for those who are type two it's reversable, I feel for you.

I dont remember being any other way and I take no offense at type 2 diabetics and their habits. Everyone has their demons yes? This is why the juice thing has been such a problem for me though. The latest cut back seems to be working though. My sugar was 122 instead of 55 when I got up this morning.

Im thrilled for me. Ive never been able to lose weight before, due to all my medications and such. So 13 pounds is a big deal. Even if I never lose another pound this has still changed my life because my blood sugars have never been so good. I feel great!
