General Questions / HELP!!! Feeling frustrated...
« on: June 14, 2013, 07:48:07 AM »
Hi everyone!
So here is my quick story. Started FTS before I got pregnant with my son in August. I lost 20lbs very quickly on it, within about 6-7 weeks. It was great!!! While pregnant with my son I did not follow the diet as closely as I should have. I started following strictly again about 3 weeks ago. I have also added in 3 days/week at the gym, something I didn't do the first time around at all. However, in this 3 weeks I have only lost about 3lbs and keep hovering back and forth around 1lb. I do know that I have lost a bit in inches, with going to the gym, but that number just seems stuck. This is getting frustrating for me, especially knowing my past results with FTS. My husband thinks I'm just being too hard on myself and has threatened to break my scale :) I've had major body issues most of my life, but especially since my oldest was born 5 years ago.
A typical menu for me (this was yesterday):
One-min muffin for breakfast
Chicken salad (mayo and some pepper) w/cheese for lunch
Dish Pizza Quiche for dinner
This is generally what my menu looks like, inserting a different meal from the cookbook. I am wondering if it could possibly be my coffee intake slowing things down. I drink A LOT of coffee, I have realized. I mean, come on, I have a 7 week old and a 5 year old at home with me!!! :) I do drink it black w/ some SF syrup or FTS sweetener. I am going to lower, and monitor, my coffee intake better...but was just looking for some advice, or reassurance!

Ok everyone, it is that time of year...I am craving chili, and really want to make some. I feel that chili is mostly straight forward and shouldn't be too hard, but does anyone have any recipes they have found to be extra yummy??

General Discussion / Stress

So I've been having a rough week...I've always been an emotional eater and while I've managed to control it it's creeped up on me this week. Stepped on the scale and gained 2lbs. Sigh. But I did buy jeans a size down yesterday...that was a positive for me!

Girly Girl Talk / TOM cravings
« on: March 05, 2012, 08:26:23 AM »
So I was at the grocery store yesterday and ended up in the candy aisle (I think I have GPS for it during this time of month!). I'm looking at the candy and see the sugar free Reese's. Now I love the Atkins peanut butter cups but they didn't have them so I thought, why not? Let me tell you...I love them!!! 1 net carb in 5 of those minis. So I split the serving up. I had 2 when I got home and the rest of my serving after dinner. I felt like I was cheating on a diet but the best part was...no guilt!!!

General Discussion / Sugar free syrup question
« on: March 02, 2012, 08:50:41 AM »
Ok so there are a million brands of sugar free syrups, so what are everyone's favorites? Any favors to stay away from? I'm worried about the weird after taste that some can leave and I'd rather not waste a lot of money!! Thanks guys!

General Discussion / Question

Ok I've been on a mission for sweeteners I like. Can someone explain to me about erithytol? (I think I spelled that right lol) For example, it will say carbs 3 and below that erithytol 3...what does this mean??

General Discussion / Feeling blah
« on: February 27, 2012, 08:16:42 AM »
So this has been a rough couple weeks for me. My husband and I were at our house in Florida last week and this week has just been crazy. I stuck to the diet, but no weight loss this week. Just always makes me feel a little more blah!! Lol

General Discussion / Self esteem
« on: February 10, 2012, 09:24:07 AM »
I've learned long ago that weight loss is a 2 part process...it's the lifestyle change and the mental change. Even if in your heart you know that what you're doing is an amazing thing it can be hard to convince your head of that. Maybe I'm the only one but I know I have definitely had a hard time combatting the emotional toll that weight gain has taken on me. Soooo I guess me question is, does anyone have any tips on how to make yourself feel better without spending thousands on therapy? :) Trust me, my husband would love to figure out how to get me over my emotional outbursts  lol!

Girly Girl Talk / Back on track
« on: February 06, 2012, 09:35:24 AM »
Soooo after battling my first tom since doing this I feel ready to get back on track. I stayed on the plan, but had 2 days where I went over my 20 carbs by about 2-3. Not great, but hey can't beat myself up...I knew that week was going to be hard. Soo back to basics this week...going on vacation to see my husband (due to work he is out of state this year) next week so hoping I can have a good week. :)

Girly Girl Talk / Ugh
« on: February 04, 2012, 11:30:33 AM »
So I'm just not having a good week. Haven't really fallen off the wagon or anything, but I know it has to do with that TOM, but I only lost .8 lbs this week and it's making me emotional. Again, probably thanks to that TOM. I know I'm too hard on myself but ugh.

General Discussion / First attempt
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:38:27 AM »
Well I'm attempting my first recipe out of the cookbook tonight, the eggplant lasagna. We're celebrating my sisters birthday and I got nominated to make dinner, well they're going to be eating my way!!! :) My mother-in-law made it for Easter last year and no one could tell the difference, and no one even realized what they were eating until someone pointed it out. Now let's just hope that I don't butcher it!!!!

General Discussion / Week 2
« on: January 31, 2012, 09:23:15 AM »
So another 4lbs gone this week, for a total of 11lbs. Trying not to let the difference in numbers between the 2 weeks frustrate me...it's normal!!! And besides, don't know many other people trying to lose weight who can lose 11lbs in 2 weeks. :)
