General Discussion / Re: HELLO, I AM NEW.
« on: August 30, 2011, 10:51:54 AM »
Hi Umpa,
Yep I am so excited, getting ready to get a tote to throw all the clothes in as they begin to get too big, than I will donate them. I have tons of clothes in smaller sizes I have saved as I was not always this big, some brand new with tags still, so the journey down in sizes is going to be a thrill!!!!!!! : ;D ;D ;D ;D
I cannot tell you how great I feel mentally, just the feeling that it is going to work and that I can really feel the weight coming off is making me so happy. I had all but lost any hope till I read Doug's book.
Really enjoying you all and all the folks on the forum, all the recipes, ideals, help, it is great!!!!

I feel I am learning so much to help me from your all's posts!
I plan to make us taco salad tonight. I 'm just going to take salad, add lean cooked taco hamburger ( I found a low carb taco spice packet at store Saturday) and sour cream and cheese, but of course no taco chips.

I AM NEW TO THIS AND I SURE DO NOT WANT TO BREAK MY FTS EATING STYLE ON VACATION, PLUS WE HAVE TO STOP AT A FAMILY REUNION ON WAY BACK HOME, SO PLEASE GIVE ME ALL YOUR TRAVELING WISDOM AND IDEALS OF HOW I CAN STAY ON THE FTS PLAN WHEN AWAY FROM HOME. Day 6 and I have made it yeah.
My hubby got us a new car today, when he got home  we took a drive in the country and we took our granddaughter fishing at a nearby lake... by the time we left everyone was starving, he got him and my granddaughter ice creams, but I said NO, than we called Bob Evans and ordered take out, I got the grilled Chicken, squash and salad.  By the time we got home and ready to eat, I was feeling badly as so hungry, but once I had my low carb meal I feel great now. So thankful I stayed on course! another victory!
Need to find some type of snack to keep in my purse for emergencies when we have to be gone so long.
I have been looking at all the recipes, wow, I am amazed how much we CAN have in variety. Never enjoy cooking much, but now looking forward to learning to cook some of these recipes. :)

We are praying for all those living on the east coast with that hurricane approaching, praying it will turn and go back out to sea.
Hubby always picks up carry out on Friday nights for us, and I am happy to say I stuck with my FTS program, got grilled chicken, salad and squash. and gave hubby my bread. yeah!!! I am really trying to consentrate on what I can have instead of what I cannot have.

Product Reviews / sassafras
« on: August 25, 2011, 06:08:42 PM »
I wanted to share this with you all, if you like the 'root beer' type taste, our Kroger has Pappy's Sassafras tea, it is liquid in a bottle on the top shelf over the teas at our store.  www.sassafrastea.com
I just add two Tbsp. of it to ice water, hot water or to a glass of club soda and I really enjoy it, no calories, no carbs.
You can use sweetner if you wish but I enjoy it without it.
