Went out shopping today took my 5 year old with me. I cant remember what I was putting on my cart when she said to me mom  did you check the carbs on that can we have it . That so made my day. What more can I ask for.

That's great! My boys are doing the same thing and even read labels now. That's a good habit to get into at such an early age and like MommaB said, it's teaching them not to gain weight in the first place.

Good for your daughter! :)

Your daughter sounds absolutely precious!

And you're a wonderful example of a good parent!
As I've said before, they watch what we DO much more than what we say.

And we all thought it was too hard to get our kids to eat right...  They learn very quickly.  My youngest son does the same thing at the grocery store and my 16 year old asked me this morning which school cafeteria choice would be a "no carb" choice.   I think my eyes welled up. :'(  Not because I feel she should lose weight, or that she thinks she is fat, (maybe 10 - 15 lbs would make her BMI where it belongs),  but because she has been watching me, and learning from me and has been tuned in!  (without me knowing!).

The last words I say to my children before they leave the house are 1.  I love you... and 2.  Lead by example. 
She showed me I was already doing that !

When you think about it, this is something mankind shares with God's animal kingdom.
The young learn by observing their parents.

But thank goodness we're not like the largemouth bass.
Bass will eat their young not long after spawning.... But wait a minute, in some cases, they may be on to something! ;)
