blood test

In March my hA1C was 11. Yesterday's test was 6.4. I cannot wait to see my doctor's face on Thursday when he reads those results. They also checked liver and lipids but I don't know my starting numbers on that.

Your body is starting to change, blood sugar is balancing. You have given yourself the foundation for a longer healthier stay on earth :) Diabetic?....who you? I don't think so!

Wow! That is so totally awesome! I've just started reading the book and can't wait to get results like this. I too am diabetic (type 2). :D

So, my doctor nearly fell out of his chair today! He was very surprised at my weight loss, but especially at the drastic change in my hA1C from 11 down to 6.4 in 3 months. He expected a change from 11 down to 8, maybe 7.1 at the most! He said I can change from taking Actoplus Met (Actos plus metformin, which costs $212 per month) to a generic form of metformin only (which costs about $4 per month). I go back on January 6th and he'll decide then if I can get off medication completely. He says if I keep losing weight like I am now, then I should be off meds by January!  I am very excited and I can't wait to get on the scale in January in his office...what a change from always dreading it!
