I don't know enough about the crackers or your cookie press to express an opinion, TooSweet. Let us know how it works!

Thanks, Umpa! I've seen the recipes. When I get a craving for Chinese, I know what to do!

General Discussion / Re: PFC Percentage Ratios
« on: February 09, 2012, 03:44:12 PM »
Well, I don't want to open a can of worms here (all protein), I was just curious if anyone was having success with it. Sweeties, it's just watching to see how much of what you eat in a day is protein, how much is fat and how much is carbs. I read an article about it online - someone said they had stopped losing weight and someone else said that the ratio between the protein to fat was off and I was curious if it fit in here. I'm kind of experimenting with it. I'll let you know if I have a Eureka! or anything. I haven't noticed any great breakthrough yet.

... I'm wondering why anyone bothers with them with all the great cracker and bread recipes here?

Hi Sarah! :)

In a word, convenience.
I usually have one with Beanit Butter and SF jam or cream cheese and my morning coffee.

Although they don't taste very good plain from the package, they do taste good with something on them.

Uh huh. They sound just yummy.

Oh, TooSweet, you are too funny! Should I have said 'saggy skin'? You're young enough that you should have enough elasticity in your skin so yours won't sag so much as you get skinny. I'm getting older and have to think twice about it! I hope I don't have saggy knees and elbows when I'm done! I chant: tighten up, tighten up! and pinch my skin to see how loose it is!

Ask Umpa / Re: Fondue?

FONDUE! What a great idea!!!! It should be easy to come up with a cheese dip - even a chocolate dip - to put in a fondue pot! Where's mine???

Just click on the blinking yellow link at the top of the page and you can see the other cookbook. I'm holding out for the NEW cookbook that's still in the works. I have all the others.

I haven't tried the GG crackers, but after reading the comments about them, I'm wondering why anyone bothers with them with all the great cracker and bread recipes here?

I didn't see your original post, Ohiogirl! Sorry!

I had to get off all sweeteners and processed meats to get the scale moving. But even when they are at a standstill my body is shedding inches or wrinkles or something.

Good luck, tinab! Look at making some FTS replacements to help you get through the conference, like Umpa's carrot cake, Katary's crackers, etc. If you don't have the Bakery Book, get it NOW! If you go prepared, you won't cave when everyone else is chowing down on donuts. Even though you're probably off sweets at this time, it's better to fall to FTS sweets than the fat ones.

It looks good, Amber! It still amazes me that bread can be made without any flour!

General Questions / Re: Sugar alcohols - always tummy troublers?
« on: February 08, 2012, 11:52:37 PM »
Candy with malitol always gives me gas. I can get away with 1 once in a while, but if I eat too much too close together, I blow up! I've almost quit sf candy all together. It can stall your weight loss and create cravings for sweet stuff - and who wants that?

Breads and Crackers / Re: Katary Bakery Sunflower Seed Crackers

I tried a mix of sharp cheddar and pepper jack today.  The jury is still out, but first impressions were that I wasted the pepper jack. I can't really taste it in there - the first batch became more flavorful after the first day, so I'll reserve judgement on these until tomorrow. I cut them into Wheat Thin-sized pieces this time. I can hardly wait to lose my weight so I can make some of the other wonderful recipes on my list!
