Title: Tyler and I or starting over!
Post by: Joagain on June 24, 2013, 03:52:18 PM
Tyler fell off the low carb wagon but he joined the gym today and is back on track . Has for me I did not fall off but have ate things that were consider safe starches Blythe doctor that found my thyroid problem .
As y'all know I thought there was a problem because I was not losing like most here . Well it is hashimotos auto immune which is the answer also to where Tyler got his type 1 diabetes .

Well anyway I am on thyroid meds and we started FTS back to the letter today . Have missed talking to y'all guys ! I started my ticker over so a fresh start !

Hi Jo and Owensmath!!! I too started over the beginning of this month...I haven't done so well...so I'm trying to get back on track better. I gained all but 20 pounds of the 100 I lost...SO yeah, I've got a LONG way to go. We are going to do this together. And I too have noticed there is no such thing as, "I can have (insert starchy dish here) every once in a while...nope, it comes back with a binging vengeance! UGH darn those carbs. But when I follow FTS I feel SO good...when I don't, well, I feel like what I ate...crap  :P glad to see you back...let's get back on track together.

Hi Jo and Tyler -- welcome back.

I fell off last couple weeks and am back on track too.  I plan to STAY this way now, so I don't have to detox again.  It takes a lot of courage to see what is going wrong, and to cut out the carbs to get back to what works right.  You were wise to get back before you got into a deep rut with bad eating, not exercising etc.  That's what scared me enough last week to put down the sugar/flour and get back on FTS....I was afraid if I didn't do it soon, maybe I'd not get back at all.....

I'm inspired Tyler is going to the gym.  That is what I need to do also, get back to the gym, I had laid off when I was sick this month, and don't have any excuse now but to go in the morning.....my son nags me and if I offer an excuse his answer is just always "it's only ONE hour mom".....he's a tennis coach and an athlete and is always on me to get to the gym because he knows I feel better and handle my food issues better.

Hang in there -- keep posting!

That was for the last 3 months . If he eats a bad meal a week he thinks he has blew everything . But he is 17 and it is very hard for him when he goes out with other teens  to eat .

I kind of have that same mentality...if I eat 1 carb too many, I might as well go 1,000. I have a bit of an extremist mind set...meaning everything is to one extreme or the other! I totally understand!

Teen peer pressure is almost irresistible.

Hey Everybody!  Life is good!   Madison is getting married on August 9th.... 15 days away!  We are excited for her, and we really like our son in law to be!  His name is Russell.

Umpa, I sold my horse after the bucking bronco fit he pulled on me.  ha ha  He definitely had some issues, but I sold him to a horse trainer.  She said he would be her "project horse".  He got a great home!    Once Madison moves out, I will be taking care of her horse, Rocky.  He's a Tennessee Walker, and he's very sweet & gentle.  I can ride him anytime, so I'm happy.

Hope everyone here is doing well and getting SKINNY!!!   ;D

Hi, Jan! :)

We too, have a weeding coming up in August... the 3rd!

My youngest son James, is marrying a wonderful young lady named Mikki.
She has done wonders to help my son "grow up" and be a very responsible man.

I pray both our weddings are lovely and memorable! :)

Hey jan congrats on your daughters wedding ! I will be posting pics of Tyler soon he has really changed his body he is working out at planet fitness . Man to have a young body and see how those muscles pop out quick when you are young .
He will be 18 sept 6th , I will be 51 Aug 3rd . Was suppose to be fit at 50 but did to make it oh well maybe at 52 LOL
Tyler is it losing much weight because he is replacing muscle for fat but he is losing inches and he is down like 5 pounds which is pretty good since he is just a few pounds overweight ,but he wants to be it and stop it before it gets out of hand . His A1C at 5.5 is great !
I have lost 12- 13 pounds so far ,slow and steady this time I will not get discouarged as long as I know I am eating right nt going to stress with the scale  ::) I am a slow loser and learner  ;)

Way to go Jo!  You are doing great!   I am so happy that Tyler is doing so well too!  There is a Planet Fitness close to my office in town.  They offer an amazing deal on membership.  Not sure how all the other gyms stay in business with these folks in town!

Congrats to your son Tony!  I love it that our families are growing!  Madison & Russell are having a little private wedding,so we had a BIG party for the shower a couple weeks ago.  It was so much fun.  I hope both couples will be VERY happy!

Hey Doug!!  So glad y'all never forget us even if we are MIA for months at a time!   :D

Thanks Umpa still cant believe I came up with it . We like to half the recipe so it will be thin ,get the grease  real hot before pouring it in so the bottom is real crunchy . I am glad you like it though .

Well Tyler is building muscle at the gym like crazy so his weight is only down a pound or two he is swapping fat for muscle !
Can't believe my baby is going to be 18 !!
I am still struggling as always am still FTS but as usual they are adjusting my thyroid meds and told me to just stay off the scale and just keep doing what i am doing but I am at the same weight . So I have to think that is a plus
They told me that I may need to try Autoimmune diet ,but that takes away ,almonds ,eggs ,peppers of any kind, butter cheese, heavy cream, mayo, soy, tofu, coffee.
That would really narrow the list of FTS  foods .
But I think I am going to wait it out a little more before I go that route .they added T3 to my Armour Thyroid August 6th . New blood labs in Oct .
Y'all have a great weekend just wanted to check in on our weigh in status !!!

Hi, Jo! :)

It's nice to hear that Tyler is doing so well! :) :) :)
Children grow so very fast! We must enjoy every moment we have with them.

My wife had serious problems trying to lose weight (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) until her thyroid meds were adjusted correctly.
She was even gaining weight eating low carb with portion control!

I hope your doctor gets your meds right.
I'm sure it will make all the difference for you!
