What's the best way to track carbs
« on: August 16, 2010, 10:02:23 PM »
I really need to know how you guys track your carbs for the day.  Do you do it in your head, do you write it down?

I've been tracking in fatsecret.com and I find that tracking every little thing online is making me really obsessive.  It is taking the fun out of this and I find it's not only making me a little crazy with all of this but when I see that I only have 1 carb left I feel very deprived for some reason.

What do you guys advise?

Thanks. I really want to make this work for me and succeed.

Count it in your head. The computer programs are just something else to obsess over with food. You have to really change the way you look at food.Look at it as fuel and move on with your day.Use the time that you are sitting in front of the computer program for something better like a walk on a sunny day! :)

I write my carb intake down on a small sheet of paper for the day.  When the day is over, I toss the paper.  Each day is a new day and a clean start!  I am almost at the point of totally calculating my points in my head.  Seeing your food intake on paper -- especially in the beginning of the FTS program -- helps you to actually see what you are eating and where to cut back.  It is easy to "forget" every little bite you take if you don't write it down in the beginning!!!   :D
Make it a great day!

I have a notebook I bought from the dollar store and write it down daily.
