You can very easily make sure you're not overeating by following the 15 minute rule.
The 15 minute rule will be your best friend. make a plate....then take a second plate and cut the portion right down the middle. Eat one plate and wait a full 15 minutes. The easiest way to do that is to do something while your waiting. Heck come onto the forum, go water the plants, something to take your mind off the fact that you're waiting. Then after 15 minutes take a body check...Are you still hungry? If not, wrap the other plate and put it away. If yes, eat a little more and wait another 10 minutes or so. Soon you'll discover "your" proper portion sizes.

The 15 minute rule is something that I will implement immediately. Thanks a million for the idea.

Doug is right... This rule is as solid as it gets! :)
But one thing to remember when enjoying your meals...
DO NOT eat watching TV, or other activity that may distract you from what you're doing!
The idea is to "listen" carefully to your body as it "speaks" to you.
The TV (or other distractions) will likely drown out its "voice".
And you'll end up eating more than you should. ???
That's why TV trays are common furnishings in obese family homes!
