Hi, ShihTzuMom1! :)

It's nice to hear from you, too.

I've been checking in most every day to see if anyone has any questions or needs support.
FTS saved my life. I want to help others do the same.

Doug I'm sure you are loving that her doctor suggested your book.  Congrats to you and Sonya for beginning her journey!

WTG Sherri!!  I can't believe someone would knowingly sabotage your accomplishment.  They must be jealous.  So nice that your husband and son are so supportive.  You are amazing!!

Yes all is well.  I added to my "Enjoying my Journey " thread http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=975.195 along with 2 pics, 1 being from my daughter's wedding.

Wow Tony, you should be so proud of yourself.  Love the pictures and your ticker, but the healthy aspects are what are most important.  Congrats!!!

Hello everyone.  Sorry I haven't been around much, I have been busy enjoying life and haven't had much time for sitting at the computer lately.  I am still following the FTS lifestyle and eating low carb.  It has become an everyday way of life for me.

Since I last posted my daughter got married in June.  The wedding was beautiful and it was so wonderful to be able to concentrate on her and not have to stress that I was not comfortable with my weight.  I will add a picture from then as well as a picture of me from mid October when I was on a winery tour in Niagara-on-the-Lake with my female family members.  Just got back from a vacation in Florida but I was always the one with the camera in my had and I guess my husband never took any pictures of me.

I have been enjoying seeing the progress everyone has been making.  Keep it up, you are doing great.  I'm going back to work in a few weeks but will try to pop on the forum from time to time.

I love this.  Stays nice and crunchy in my SF vanilla almond milk.

I didn't realize that a Stag & Doe is a regional thing to Southern Ontario according to Wikipedia.  It is like a big party where everyone gathers to help the wedding couple raise money to help get them started or pay for a honeymoon (or sometimes pay for the wedding).  It is for both men & women with raffles, games and penny sale, music, food and drinks.  People buy a ticket for $5 each which usually includes admission, a buffet meal (food provided by friends and relatives) and a door prize ticket.  Quite often people just buy a ticket to help out whether they are going or not, or even if they don't know the wedding couple.  Some places call it a Jack & Jill and some call it a Buck & Doe.  Friends and family try to sell as many tickets as possible to cover any out-of-pocket expenses so any profits go directly to the Bride & Groom.  It's not like a wedding or shower that you have to be invited, you can even buy a ticket at the door, the more the merrier.  It works well in small towns because everyone knows everyone and it is usually a great place to run into people you haven't seen for a while.

My daughter and her fiance had lots of people attend and made a good chunk of money to put towards a downpayment on a house.

Just dropping by to say hello to everyone.  I have been so busy with preparations for my daughter's wedding coming up in less than 2 weeks.  Showers, Stag & Doe, dress fittings, shopping, lists...OMG it is lots of work.

The nice part about this is I didn't have to rush to lose weight to fit into a dress.  They actually had to take in the one I bought as I started taking Zumba class and toned myself up.  Also photographs are not making me panic.   So I have to say thank you to Doug, Umpa and my FTS family for helping make me comfortable in my own skin for my daughter's special day!!

Desserts and Sweets / Grain-Free Pumpkin Spice Bread
« on: April 28, 2012, 07:20:30 PM »
My sister who has celiac disease and can't eat anything with gluten sent me this recipe.  I haven't tried it yet but it looks good.  I think I have all the ingredients here to try it but I probably won't get a chance until my next day off.  Let me know if anyone tries this and what you think.  I wasn't sure if I should post this under Breads or Desserts and Sweets since there is no sugar in it.
