Title: Checking in
Post by: Doug Varrieur on December 03, 2015, 10:15:56 AM
Hi all, Umpa and I have been in the woods of Alabama deer hunting and bass fishing for the last few weeks. 2 deer are in the freezer and Umpa is ahead in our annual bass fishing contest with this monster. I shot a nice turkey thanksgiving morning :)

Wishing everyone well!

Nice to pop in after months and months go by each time I peek in and see you and Umpa are well and going strong! I am fine, healthy and blessed in the Lord... lost tons a weight at one time and then ate carbs again, gained it all back and then Juice Fasted, kept it going daily and was soaring with the wind, healthy, vibrant and weight all off again... maintained for quite some time but then----> Bread Bread Bread, sadly my biggest weakness and then came the fries again, etc... well so the story goes my weight is back on and now I am going to begin another fast with the green leafy veggies to detox, then maintain with my raw organic veggies, chicken, eggs. some fruit and definitely NO carbs!! Moving on, keeping my head lifted high.... Amen!

You two precious souls, were the very first ones in my life to inspire me to ever begin to take serious the facts of how my body works and to think healthy and lose the weight that kick started a whole new journey of good health and awareness in my life, and for that you are forever beheld a special place in my heart!! Keeping you lifted up to the Father, our Creator, for Peace, Joy and Love to always be your companions, as you continue to travel onward, in this Life Journey, toward Home... Big hugs and ever so much Love and gratitude!! Remain Blessed Always!! ....Cyndi ♥

Hi Everyone!

I recently joined the site after popping in here for about 3 months.  I've really enjoyed reading through older posts and have tried quite a few of the recipes.

This site has been a wealth of info and provided so much guidance as we were making the switch to low carb.  I've enjoyed reading the 'Ask Umpa' thread and seeing all the possible substitutions.

My nephew is a diabetic since 18 months old and he's visiting the site too now and has made some amazing progress.  I made the coconut cake for Christmas, among a few other dishes and he really enjoyed them.

Looking forward to being part of the community.

Hi There,

Well I'm new to this and determined to get skinny this year.  I'm tired of feeling over weight and gross. I'm having a hard time getting motivated tho, as I've been doing a lot of stress eatting around a child custody issue that keeps going and going. I could use some help and tools to stay on track. I have tried 2-3 great recipes already. Egg Foo Young and the Strawberry Mouse. Both excellent. Its the carbs that I get into while stressed that are not helping. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the FTS family, Pita0319!!! :) :) :) :) :)

Life has plenty of stress sources.
And stress is one of the most common issues faced by folks trying to change their lifestyles.
Because when we're stressed, we tend to seek comfort in the familiar.

But you CAN change your lifestyle!
It will require 100% commitment to yourself and your health.
After all, wouldn't like to live a nice long healthy life to enjoy with your child(ren)?

So this is the first day toward a much healthier and happier life.
It's up to Y-O-U to make it a reality.

If you need any more support, please don't hesitate to ask.
That's why we're here. ;D

Welcome Pita! I am Umpa Dougs wife if I can help you please ask :) Stress can actually make you gain weight as well as lack of sleep.Stick to the fat to skinny rules and you will be fine.Find another way to deal with your stress like working out, walking or crank up the stereo and dance till you drop! :D I have a board on the home page where I can convert your favorite recipes to fat to skinny friendly.
