Goal(s)
« on: July 18, 2011, 05:18:50 PM »
My short term is to reach 200..
then 190
and then re-evaluate to see if maybe 180

23 lbs to get to 200.....Just to think I started at 267.... ;)

I know this may sound weird Alex, but I'm not looking for a specific weight. All I want to do is get rid of the belly!! LoL...If it's at 135 or 125 it doesn't matter. I just want it gone, so hopefully sometime in the near future I can fit into a bikini! LoL!!!

I think about my goal alot too Alex.  I set my ticker for a goal weight of 176.  I am 5' 10" and big boned.   Seriously!  ha ha  I did the wrist test Tony told us about!  ;) The way I feel now, I probably won't try to lose that much.  With this "melting like a snowman" thing (losing from the top half first), my main problem now is my hips and thighs.  I am at 290 today.  I think I'll shoot for a new goal of 200 pounds too and then just see what happens.  Either way, I just plan to stay on course and see what happens.   ;)

Maddysmom I've found that for most people the areas you lose fat last are the areas that you first gained years ago.

My goal is 145 and I started at 219. I've been wondering if it's a realistic goal. I'm okay with where I am now, but part of me wants to get to the goal I picked to give myself more leeway. My weight hasn't changed in a month, but I know why and it's my fault. I'm okay with that, I guess. Time will tell if I can get down to where I want to be.

I will tell you that no only is it awesome that I have reversed my diabetes, but when I lay down, I feel bones.... hahahahaha... that may sound dumb but darn it, I was starting to think that I had fat little people inside holding me up...

Also, I can cross my legs just like a young lady.. Ha.. The simple things in life that bring me joy.. I understand what you mean Stephanie and Jan..

My Dr says that my I should go down to 150, I say, no less than 180.. If my blood works shows that I am good, then I will be fine with 180-190...

I have lost 13 so far.  My ultimate goal is to get down to 135.  But my belly is shrinking so that is one goal I am getting closer to.  Rena I haven't lost in a few weeks either and I know why too.  Summer is challenging but I am sticking to the program!

Maddysmom I've found that for most people the areas you lose fat last are the areas that you first gained years ago.

I've observed this too in my weight loss adventures.

I also believe it's tied to weight "set points".
These are those loss plateaus we hit when we reach the FAT that was on our bodies for a longer period of time.
When we start to lose again, we'll proceed until we hit another "set point" and repeat the process.

Losing weight is truly the reverse process of gaining it.
Kind of like going backwards down the road by which we got FAT!
What you do today is what matters!

Doug & Tony, I do believe you both are right!  I do remember gaining that weight first!  It really makes sense when I think back about it.  Thanks for reminding me of this.
