FIRST magazine for woman would like to know if you've told a female family member about FTS which resulted in her losing a considerable amount of weight?

Hi Doug! :)

Other than my wife, no.
Of course, she's on a "modified" prescribed version where she eats more carbs (50-70 per day) along with taking special meds under her doctor's supervision.
It seems to be working well for her.

I told my sister.  She is 10 years post-gastric bypass and had a lot of digestive issues.  She has lost 14.5 pounds in the 2 months since she started FTSing and, best of all, her digestive issues seem to be a thing of the past.  She has managed to keep off 100 pounds from her initial post-surgery weight loss, but she's happy to be on FTS and losing the rest of her excess weight.

I tell everyone who wants to listen to me....LOL

As a matter of fact I just came in from outside talking to my neighbor about it.   ;D  When I asked how she was doing she was told me that she was down.  Of course I asked her why..... she said it was because she has been gaining lately.  She had lost a lot before and now is gaining it back. :-\   Does that sound familiar anyone???  ::)  As soon as I get another copy of FTS I'll be passing it on to her.... I'm not sure if she uses a computer.  Hmmmm  I'll have to go talk some more..hee hee

Both my moms are on the forum and have joined the FTS family with me  ;)  (still working on the daughter  8))

I told family members, and they started FTS but have not stayed with the lifestyle.  I have several friends, however, who are living the FTS lifestyle successfully. Three of the are on this forum: Maddysmom, Readyforthis, and MommaB.  I have another friend at work who has bee living this lifestyle along with her husband since I told me both about it. He has lost over 40 pounds and she didn't have much to lose and is maintaining now. A former co-workers living FTS along with her husband after reading my FB posts and seeing some of my pictures and she has lost about 40 pounds already.

It is truly my pleasure to share the good news that can save lives! The other night at dinner we saw an acquaintance who has had major heart problems in the last year. His wife mentioned that he is also having some blood sugar issues now. I went to the car and got my FTS book and gave it to him.

I've told my sister-in-law and her sister, but they're not sold yet.  I haven't lost enough weight yet to convince them. I told a male friend who has lost 20 lbs. on the FTS plan. He's tickled! When I get off this STUCK place and LOSE, I'll be more convincing. :-\

It can be difficult to convince some people that carbs are the problem and not fat.
That old false propaganda "Fat makes fat." is still VERY ingrained in our society.

With such cultural pressures, some folks may find it more difficult to stay the course.

Sadly, not every overweight person is willing to give up their "sugar" for healthier alternatives.
And with that, comes a price. :'(
