Title: Sugar Free Swiss Miss
Post by: Barb sugarfree! on February 03, 2012, 09:08:38 PM
I had a cup of swiss miss s/f today and it was great, however, the label says 6 grams of sugar, how can that be (s/f and 6 grams of sugar)

It probably has powdered milk in it -- right? If so, the carbs could come from there.

I love hot chocolate, but have learned to replace it with unsweetened almond milk (0 carbs) and Walden Farms chocolate syrup (0 carbs). Pop that in the microwave and it's just as good to me. Add a little peppermint extract, and it's even better! :)

Read label and  ingredient lists.Manufacturers can be clever with labeling ;)

Hi Barb! :)

Umpa's right.

But they are not only clever... The FDA is not very particular about the carb counts accuracy.
So it's important to also read the ingredients list.
My rule is... If any one (or more) of the first three ingredients listed is high carb, I don't buy the product.
