Is Chrystal Light better for you than Diet Coke.  My weight loss has been s l o w  :'(  I am going to try and do with out diet coke this week.  I have replaced it with Chrystal Light ice tea.  Is this a good idea or am I just trading one bad thing for another and end up having the same s l o w results on the scale?

Is there and app for carb counting for my Iphone that anyone would recommend?  I've looked at a few but none were "user friendly" for me.

General Discussion / help find the culprit
« on: February 15, 2012, 10:21:44 PM »
Had my blood work done last wednesday (2/8/12).  My chlorestoral went from 176 to 224.  My blood sugar went from 84 to 124 and my blood pressure was elevated.

I feel good about the way I am eating but I can't have these numbers increasing.  I couldn't believe my glucose, since I haven't had sugar for 2 weeks not even in condiments.  No fruit except strawberries and no white flour either.

I am willing to continue, but wanted to know if you have ever heard of such a turn around?

This is what I've eaten the last two days, I will continue to post my days intake of food until we find the culprit.  Thanks everybody

I feel good about being off of the sugar, but I am really concerned about the numbers that my doctor gave me from my blood work.  I go back in 3 months for another blood test, but of course he increased my chlorestoral medicine

General Discussion / Romaine Lettuce Leaves
« on: February 11, 2012, 04:57:37 PM »
I just used romaine lettuce leaves today to use as bread for an egg salad sandwich.  Not such good luck.  Excremely messy!  Is there a trick to using lettuce leaves or is there some kind of bread, I have not been able to find the tortilla that Doug mentioned in his book.   I am still sugar free and carb free and loving it  ;D

General Discussion / older generation

Do older people get good results with the FTS?  I am over 60 and even though I feel much better without the "white stuff" (sugar & carbs  ;D)  my weight loss has been minimal  :'(  My stomach has gone down and my "big" clothes fit better  ;D  But I wonder will it take me a little longer to lose more pounds?

General Discussion / Diabetic question

I know I read somewhere that the difference in sweeteners could spike your blood sugar.  My husband is a Type 2 diabetic how can he find out which sweetener spikes his blood surgar?  Is there some kind of test procedure he can do for himself?

General Discussion / Difference in Low Carb Authors
« on: February 04, 2012, 08:24:33 PM »
What is the difference between Fat to Skinny and The Belly Fat Cure?  I've read both books and the only difference I can find is the amount of net carbs you can have daily and then I'm still a little unsure of how many I can have.

FTS = 20 net carbs a day
BFC = 6 servings of net carbs a day (which sounds like a lot after reading FTS

General Discussion / my first full day of FTS
« on: January 29, 2012, 08:53:21 PM »
I was able to go all day without any carb from bread, pototoes, or pasta.  I had for dinner spare ribs and saurkraut and for dessert s/f jello with reddi whip.  Can I use s/f cool whip in place of reddi whip?  it cost a lot less.
