Title: HELLO, I AM NEW.
Post by: KFAITH on August 25, 2011, 11:27:07 AM

Hello everyone. I am new, this is day 4 for me. I am loving this site and love the book and checking out all the recipes. I feel I have 'hope' to finally get my life back.  I have a long long way to go much like Sherripie, what an encouragement her testimony is to me.  A big thanks to Doug and Umpa, was so very surprised to receive emails from both of them welcoming and encouraging me! :) I praise the Lord I found this website and the Fat to Skinny book, it has opened up a new way of hope for me. Love watching all the things Doug and Umpa have on youtube too, and love their Yorkies as I too have a Yorkie and they just steal your heart ;)
I can already feel the fat melting, this seems to really work and I am not having cravings.
I need your prayers and help on this journey and pray I too will become a blessings to others.
This is truly awesome that Doug offers such a wonderful website "free" for us.

Welcome to the family, KFAITH! :) :) :) :) :) :)

If you really want to lose excess FAT and be much healthier, you've come to the right place.
FTS works. The science behind it is undeniable!

I'm a former type II diabetic with high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
I no longer take medications for blood sugar. And the meds I'm taking for HBP and cholesterol have been cut in half.
My doc told me that I may be "drug free" this next year! ;D ;D ;D

I learned about FTS while watching the 700 Club last July.
Since I've committed to the lifestyle, I feel much better than I have in about 30 years!
FTS is a truly blessing from on high. If you commit to it, it will transform your life!

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your FTS journey!

Tony

I like your "baby", Shawn. :)

I'll bet you don't have to worry about two AM feedings and seemingly endless diaper changes.
I sure don't miss them one little bit!

LOL  I had my share of those Tony!!!  In a funny way I do miss them.  I loved it when my two were little  :D  I laughed when you mentioned 2 am feedings...  This little one is in the habit of needing to go out any time between 3 and 4:30  :o :o  I figure at least he asks to go....it beats the alternative!!!  LOL

Hello--I'm new here, too.  Hopefully it's okay to say hello here.  I didn't know if I should start a new thread or not...

Anyway, I happened to find Doug's book today when I took my kids to the bookstore.  Just roaming around and stopped at the Health/Diet section--that bright yellow book just screamed out to be looked at.  And I'm glad it did!  Even on a budget (ugh, back to school shopping on top of everything else--it adds up) I decided this book was worth the investment and bought it.

I'm really excited to start--tomorrow's my DAY 1--I was writing out a shopping list and thought it'd be good to check out the website, too.

I'm hoping to lose 30 pounds.  It sounds far away, but in 20 weeks I'm going on a mini-vacation with my sister and thought it'd be good to get off the plane and surprise her with less pounds on me.  She's naturally thin (LUCKY!) and we're going to a place where we'll be in swimsuits, so I don't want to be the fat sister--hahaha.  I feel like I've tried lots of diet book advice and not done well, but this plan seems really easy to follow.  We shall see!   :)

WOW!  You are all so nice--THANKS!  I had a rotten day at work but this sweet welcome has cheered me up.   :)

I thought today would be super hard--after reading Doug's book I realized I've been eating pretty much all sugar, all day.  Even when I thought I was being good (blast ye, sugary watermelon--my favorite, unfortunately).  But I took a tip from the book and made lots of stuff beforehand, took my lunch to work (we had a lunch meeting and I bypassed the free pizza and ate what I brought instead), and had a ready-made dinner when I got home.  The only "sweet" thing I had today was sugar free Jell-o with Reddi Whip and it was really good!

I was expecting a headache or the feeling of the need for a pick-me-up (i.e. candy/chocolate) while at work, but nope--my freshly read book and all those before and after photos have me truly inspired.

So thanks again!  I appreciate it.

Welcome Steph,

Sounds like you are on way already!  Good Luck.  It feels sooo good to be able to say "no" to those foods.  After a few weeks you will realize you are not even "craving" them anymore.  We went out to eat yesterday (out of town) 2 times.  TwoSweet, her dad and I ate at a pancake place.  While her dad (my hubby) ate pancakes TwoSweet and I ate eggs with meat YEAH.  Then we met our son and his family and ate at Outback.  Some salad, steak, shrimp, grilled asparagus or steamed broccoli....the bomb.  I had taken cheese sticks, pepperoni sticks and nuts just in case.  Didn't even need them LOL.  FTS WORKS!!

You  are doing great!! :)  Just think of all the new clothes you get to buy! ;)

I'm thinking of the jeans I'll get to wear again!   :)

I have a very favorite pair that I can't fit into (embarrassing  :'()--30 pounds ago they did, so they are hanging on a hook over my closet door as further inspiration.

But yeah, new clothes would be awesome!  I haven't bought myself new/fashionable/cute clothes in a looooong time.

And HOORAY to everyone else here.  You all seem so happy to be in the FTS groove--that's awesome!  You're inspiring!

Hi Umpa,
Yep I am so excited, getting ready to get a tote to throw all the clothes in as they begin to get too big, than I will donate them. I have tons of clothes in smaller sizes I have saved as I was not always this big, some brand new with tags still, so the journey down in sizes is going to be a thrill!!!!!!! : ;D ;D ;D ;D
I cannot tell you how great I feel mentally, just the feeling that it is going to work and that I can really feel the weight coming off is making me so happy. I had all but lost any hope till I read Doug's book.
Really enjoying you all and all the folks on the forum, all the recipes, ideals, help, it is great!!!!

Your photo is super cute--and I love your dog.  I have 3!!  (2 Japanese Chins and a Pekingnese).  Little things, but big ol' babies.   ;D

This is my day 9 on FTS, I will weigh again on Sunday, I can feel the fat just melting this FTS way really works!!!! Are you feeling more encouraged  every day?

I had given up all hope on losing my FAT until I found FTS. I've been on more diets than I can remember.
And all with the same results... Sooner or later, I would feel "deprived" and would go back to eating like I did before.

That is one of the coolest parts of FTS... It's about replacement not deprivation.
And for this reason, I will live this way the rest of my days.

FTS is the BOMB!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
