Boston Butt Pork Roast ??

Hi.....I just picked up a boston butt roast at a church fund raiser.
It didn't have any wet bbq sauce on it, but they probably put a dry rub prior to smoking.
This may sound dumb, but do you think i'm ok as long as I  don't eat the outside?
Do you think the sugar in the dry rub will soak into the meat while cooking?

Some will Freda, just avoid the outside crust...I bet your little doggie will appreciate that!  ;)

Doug made a boston butt last night and I made augratin broccoli and cauliflower .Yummy!
