Cinnamon
« on: April 20, 2012, 01:42:05 AM »
I just got your book and have read it from front to back. Very informative and makes lots of sense. I just have one question (I'll probably have lots more later ;). My question is I take cinnamon to help with my sugar. Should I continue taking the cinnamon? Will that help or hurt?

Thanks for your help.

Your cinnamon is fine just count the carbs.  Since you will only be eating a very small amount of carbohydrates, it probably isn't necessary but Umpa will chime in.  She's our herb authority.  There are 2 net carbs per tablespoon, .7 per teaspoon.

Welcome to the forum, stdreed and I look forward to having you join our conversations.  Ask as may questions as you like.  We have lots of opinions and love to share them.

Welcome sdtreed! I am Umpa, Dougs wife. You won't need the cinnamon because your blood sugar levels will become normal quickly when you stop eating sugar and carbs. It takes about two weeks to detox and get the sugar out of your system and then your energy level will go through the roof! Save the cinnamon for french toast ;) I have a column on the homepage called ask umpa where I can convert your favorite foods to fat to skinny friendly. If you need help just ask.Ask as many questions as you like! We have wonderful, caring and very successful people here. :)

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the quick replies. Diabetes runs in the family so I've been doing the cinnamon just to be on the safe side.  I try to lay off sweets (i.e. candy and sodas) because of this and the cinnamon seems to help. When I check my glucose levels just for grins and giggles it is always in the safe zone. I have to say I like my sweets. I just didn't realize that it was in so much of the foods I eat. Since reading Doug's book I've been reading all the labels in the house. WOW!! I've only been doing this for a about 3-4 days but have already lost 3 lbs. Not bad.

Thanks,
Susan

Hi Susan! :)

3 lbs. loss is not bad... It's GREAT!!! ;D ;D ;D

When I started FTS, I had a HUGE sweet tooth!
After I finished "sugar detox", it's not been as sweet. :D

You'll do great!... Just be careful of the "sweets"! ;)
